"Why does Valve not allow me to melt down this garbage into metal? I will never use them and nobody will ever take them. I am mad." - Bio on crates
Man that was a crazy game. We left way too many guys on base in the first 6 innings and only scored one run. Then Dempster (who had been having a great game for the first 6 innings) completely falls apart and the Gorons score 6 runs in the 7th. We even had an error, which is very rare for us. But seriously, the 7th and 8th inning were like a completely different game from the rest of it. And a close play at the plate to end the whole thing. I have to say, I felt pretty good with Rios-Hunter coming up in the 10th. Our 4 best hitters against LHP right when we needed them.
Oh and Mega Mana's stats make it quite amusing that they kept walking Youks in order to get to our best hitter.

Ryan Zimmerman (.156/.321/.444, but that drops to a ~.260 OBP or worse if you take out his intentional walks) has been intentionally walked at least 4 times to reach Albert Pujols. Pujols promptly homered twice, once for a walkoff, and once to tie a game that went to extras.
NOTE TO MANIAC: Wrote this up last night after the game and just have to post it. I don't mean to steal your thunder any, and you've definitely made a better piece with the one paragraph than I did with six that ramble on.
Wow! When I saw there were four videos all over ten minutes when putting up the second video, I was 100% certain the game was going to go into extra innings off a pitching duel. It had already been about three or four innings with a few hits each. Hell, Dempster was going hitless until the fifth! Low scoring, low hitting, probably goes on for about twelve or thirteen innings with two runs at most.
Then the seventh inning happened. Four pitches in a row were taken shallow to left field for a single. Once we started getting some momentum going, it lasts only a second as Prado then throws wild and another run scores. It wouldn't have mattered too much because Stephen Drew hit a three-run slam over the left field wall to make it a 6-1 game. Hudson came in and gave up a few hits, but finished the inning before any more damage could be done.
It is now the 7th inning stretch and there's about twenty minutes left in the game. There are four scenarios I can fathom: - Best Scenario: We tie it up in three innings 6-6 or more and go into extra innings. Chance of happening? Slim to none. - Likely Scenario: Most at-bats go to full count, my guys close up close with a bunch of singles, there are many unintentional walks, pitcher hates the guy at first and throws to him constantly, and many other ways to slow the game down. Demigods still lose, but they maybe get some hits in and give it a good fighting chance. - It Could Happen: the game froze up once for a good twenty-plus seconds throwing from CF to home in the second or third vid. It could happen again and that's where the extra chunk of time is. We lose 6-1. - Alec is Evil: The last video is a decoy because he knows I watch and write-up these. The game really ends in the third vid, he just threw that one up to give me (or Darunia) false hope. With the fourth vid's picture the box scores? Probable.
Guess which one happened? We managed to get two runs in the bottom of the seventh, with I believe Mauer lining out leaving two people stranded. In the eighth, Rios swings a three-run homer of his own which was incredible with two outs and Theriot striking out like this was when Hunter was injured. 6-6 going into the ninth. Now, Dempster may have played a great game only to collapse in the seventh, but Kuo is the MVP. He smoked the Gorons. I swear, if Papelbon were there, the only way the Demigods could have won is if he decided/managed to get people out after already loading the bases.
I honestly don't remember how we won. I'm completely stunned by the victory, just like Alec was from 4-8:22 on. Yeah, it wasn't just the 6-6 scenario happening; Alec filled up half the fourth video with stunned, trolling silence.
*Desmondface*
Just based on box scores of the other games, this one has to be game of the week. No question about it. I doubt our teams would have a player MVP for pitcher or batter, but it has to be game of the week. We had a pitching duel, some of the best overall defense in weeks, nailbiting innings with plenty of people on second and/or third with two outs, a comeback victory, and extra innings. Thirteen runs total is always a good thing to have for entertainment.

Pretty good game, guys. Wasn't that stunned by it, 5 runs isn't too big of a deal to be honest. And Kuo MVP? Ehh.. I'd say Braun. Kuo almost blew the game in the 10th, he just got extremely lucky that my batters are idiots and didn't just pop fly for an easy SF.
And that wasn't stunned silence, lol. Alec does that all the time, just leaves the game on or to decoy or something.

Yeah, I'd likely give Braun or Rios the MVP. But compared to what we used to get from Paps, that was an MVP performance.
The only reason the big run innings were crazy was because they were surrounded by pitcher/defense domination.

Congratulations to the Tulsa Drillers, who locked up their fourth consecutive playoff spot with a win over STARSCREAM.
Unfortunately, the Red Zakus will not be making the playoffs this year, being eliminated in their loss to the Wonder Weasels.
It is possible that we will have all 4 playoff teams decided after this week, with the remaining games merely deciding matchups. That would be quite a chance from previous seasons: In Season 1 Chris, War and Extha ended the season tied for the final 2 playoff spots. In Season 2 Extha, Walrus, Clowns and Boko ended the season tied for 3 playoff spots, and last year Icehawk/neon ended the season tied with Reva/marth for one playoff spot, leading to a combined 5 play-in games over 3 seasons. This could be our first year without tiebreaker games.

If teams are tied on the bubble, it goes to a play-in game.
This isn't any of that NFL bull where a team with an identical record in the same division is just left out. This is BASEBALL. If there's a tie, you play a game to break it, though home field advantage is decided by head to head then run differential.
The suspense is killing me! Tulowitzki, 2-2 count, 4 walks already in the game. Will he walk to base for the fifth time of the night, or have something actually happen?
Such a cliffhanger!!!
