About a month. It is cheaper and faster to level to about 26-28, then level from the level 5 floors in the basement.

Just reached level 21. It's going slow. Currently grinding in the Haunted Gallery with +20% noncombat (smooth movement, sonata of sneakiness, quartet song, ring of conflict) and +94 ML. That's pretty much the best place to train if I'm not spamming clovers, right?

Wasting time waiting for Gloomy Black Mushrooms to grow.

Also went through and used my advanced meatsmithing to make as many weapons as possible. I'm up to 140 Meatsmithing Recipes known. When I ascend as a Turtle Tamer eventually I'll make as much of the armor as possible.


This was my first softcore ascension since way back when. 16 days and 2650 adventures. 1000 of those adventures were used to kill off all the hippies, one at a time. =P

I'm going through in an effort to beat my nemesis in order right now. Seal Clubber down...5 to go.

Not sure what I want to perm though...I've already got Pulverize. I thought about either Tongue of the Walrus or Double-Fisted Skull Smashing. But I'm not sure how worth it they are. Then I thought about using my Crimbco handbook volume 3 to learn Lunch Break so I could summon a Sack Lunch every day. Or Volume 1 to get an extra +1 adventure every day.

I suppose Northern Exposure would help me with the Mount McLargeHuge quest each time. =\

I just don't know.

Seal Clubber is the worst class for skills. I have Rage of the Reindeer + Pulverize. Dunno what else is worth getting. Musk of the Moose would speed up the F'c'le and Sonofa Beach, which helps shave off a few turns, but isn't very useful otherwise. Eye of the Stoat (more crits, less fumbles) is decent I guess.

Double-Fisted Skull Smashing isn't that great because the bonus damage is so nerfed. If you're a muscle class you probably want a shield instead, if you're a mysticality class you want a cookbook, if you're a moxie class you're wielding your epic weapon or an ocarina of space (both of which are 2 hands).

Northern Exposure isn't worth it. Get Elemental Saucesphere instead -- it'll help with the Bat Cave and Spookyraven as well.

That's true. So far, I've found the elemental resistance checks to be a lot easier than the stat tests, but I'm only at around floor 130.

I'm about halfway through level 24. Burned through 100 clovers today while grinding. Probably going to start diving in earnest tomorrow; it's a bit early, but whatever. I'm getting tired of aftercore.

Still slow going. 24 days into the ascension, and I'm level 25, at basement floor 250. It'll probably take me a couple more weeks to hit 30.

Next time I do a Fernswarthy run, I'm picking a muscle class for better training in the Gallery (+300 mainstat instead of +200). Though I guess the time savings won't be all that great, considering the stuff I'd need to perm to make a muscle run viable.

Once this run is over, probably going to do a SC Bad Moon ascension for a Brimstone Bludgeon.

While I was messing around waiting for the mushrooms I had my Rock Lobster with me to drop some Floaty Sand. Unfortunately it drops like 2% of the time which means every 250 combat turns I have enough to make a Floaty Pebble. I had enough for two Pebblebraus though which I promptly drank after I ascended.

1. SC Bad Moon - For the Brimstone Bludgeon. Dunno what I'm going to perm.
2. TT hardcore - Because having a Brimstone Bludgeon in HC sounds like all kinds of fun. Going to perm either Shieldbutt or Br'er Tarrypin, or maybe I'll re-perm Amphibian Sympathy.
3. DB softcore - Hoping to make this another four-dayer. Going to perm Nimble Fingers because meat is good.
