And like I said, the whole race was bananas.
Most lead changes every for that track and this was a 400 mile race when others are 500.
And they're coming back to this track for the first race of the playoffs.

This. Honestly sounded like even the commentators were struggling to find the hype.

NASCAR peaked with the Chastain wall-ride. Then they banned it because they don't want people actually excited about anything in the most boring sport on Earth.

Wasn't expecting much from the title, or I was expecting some horrific accident that led to the victory of the person crashing, however when the 3 were solid with each other for so long and it became a super solid 3 way tie (or seemingly so), that was quite impressive.

I was more focused on the second half of the video than the tailgating aspect. Not being into the fan experience is fair, was more calling out the "Left turn" crowd.

I understand that the actual car is only a small percentage of the race. From fuel management, pit stop speed, tires, everything is a game of strategy to squeeze out every bit of efficiency to score higher and place better. I understand that thanks to all the micromanagement the three wide finish was very exciting, for those that already care about NASCAR.

But unless you're fully committed to all of that, it's just boring to watch. Every sport suffers from that to a degree, but it happens with NASCAR in particular when the cars are so identical. The casual viewers aren't paying attention to the pit stops, they're paying attention to the cars on the track, and that usually means all they see is a massive blob of cars all moving at the same speed. Hell some posters here in this topic prove that.

NASCAR can be fun, and if you're introduced into it the right way, and had a general interest of cars to begin with, it can really take off and become a great sport to enjoy. But it's a hard sell for anyone not already into motorsports.

Racing in general is really something you have to see in person to really get. If you only exposure to it is crash videos on YT and watching it on TV, yeah I can see how someone who isn't a car nut could find it boring. Hell before my cousin started racing sprint cars I was one of those people.

But the whole "left turn easy mode" thing when it comes to Nascar has always been goofy af regardless. Go try and take a corner at 200 MPH in a car and tell me how easy it is. There's a reason these dudes have been racing cars/karts since before they could legally drive on a road.
