Several CEOs are urging Harvard University to release the names of the people in the student organizations who signed a pro-Palestinian letter that criticized Israel.

Driving the news: Billionaire Bill Ackman, a hedge fund manager and Harvard alum, said in an online post Tuesday that he had been asked by "a number of CEOs" if Harvard would disclose the list of students in the groups that issued a letter that said it held "the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence."

Several business leaders backed Ackman's call including Sweetgreen's CEO Jonathan Neman, who replied to the post, saying: "I would like to know so I know never to hire these people."

Jake Wurzak, CEO of DoveHill Capital Management, also replied to the post, saying: "I second this."
Michael Broukhim, FabFitFun's CEO, added: "We are in as well."
At least five of the 34 student groups that co-signed Saturday's letter have since retracted their support for the letter, per the Harvard Crimson student newspaper.

Among them is the Harvard Undergraduate Nepali Student Association, which said in an online post Tuesday it regretted that its decision had been "interpreted as a tacit support for the recent violent attacks in Israel."
Harvard's president Claudine Gay said Tuesday that she condemns "the terrorist atrocities perpetrated by Hamas" and "while our students have the right to speak for themselves, no student group" speaks for the college or its leadership.

Harvard did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment Wednesday, and neither did letter co-signatories the Harvard Islamic Society, Harvard South Asian Law Students Association and the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee.

That's sick.

I've seen that people who weren't even going to that school are getting death threats over these dox.

Although the fact that a bunch of 20+year old highly educated students would make such a ridiculously stupid comment like blaming the victim of a terror attack for the terror attack does have an irony to it.

I don't know why this situation has been so complex for people to figure out. The fact that we now get to deal with left leaning people showing their ass so explicitly will never be lived down unlike when regressives do it. The students themselves didn't sign it, student groups (e.g. Harvard College Democrats as a group, not the individuals in that group) signed the letter. The CEOs are asking for the names of the students in the groups.

This whole situation is bringing out the ugly side of all people even here in the states. Although I understand their anger at what seems like people openly embracing a terrorist attack; a bunch of Jewish CEOs being OK with making a list of names for retribution is a bit hypocritical

The students' messaging was tone deaf, lacking the nuance it required to be taken seriously, and overall terrible.

It's not a demonstration of horseshoe theory, even if you grant for a half-second (you shouldn't, but let's, for the sake of argument) that horseshoe theory has any credibility.

You're right, BDS policies is against the Israeli government, not the people itself. I did explain that poorly.

My point still stands, though, in that we allow people personal repercussions against people for merely supporting Palestinian civilians while also crushing people passing personal repercussions against Israel's government.

When you're so broken the only criticism you can muster for the left is they're acting like the right. And thus, my team remains pure.
