A concert isn't just about the performance, it's a whole experience

Sort of?
It's like traveling alone. You can go stand wherever you want to stand and let loose if you want.
On the other hand the people there with friends will make you feel lonely.

Presumably depends on how well you like the performers and what sort of performances they put on live.

I'd have gone to a Depeche Mode (my favorite band at the time) or Nine Inch Nails (who used to put on utterly insane and creative stage shows) concert alone back in the day. But there's also a lot of concerts that I wouldn't have been motivated enough to see without someone else.

I'd say the same applies to going to the movies alone. I've seen movies alone. I've also seen movies that I was only willing to see in the theater because I knew someone else who wanted to go.

If you're really into the show, don't be ashamed of being alone. Just enjoy it.

I've seen a lot of concerts alone. I actually prefer it TBH.

Then again, I also prefer to do pretty much everything alone. Except maybe eating at restaurants or doing Karaoke.

I did this for the first time this year at a Pere Ubu show and it was a blast

Who's playing?

Consider that it will still probably be a good experience if you go alone. Does your experience have to be min-maxed or it's not worth doing?

Also you might get unlucky, not see them live, then they die.

I'm going to see Mudvayne, Coal Chamber and Gwar. I just saw Mudvayne last year in their reunion tour and they were amazing. Coal Chamber is one of those bands that I like but aren't one of my favorites but I never thought I'd as them live so they'll be cool. As for Gwar, I don't know many songs but I heard their shows are great. I'll enjoy it alone too I think.

Also I know all too well about skipping a show just for the band to break up/a member to die, I missed out on Rush before Peart died, R.I.P.

Id say it would be more fun with people. But you can still have a blast by yourself But it probably depends on everything involves, like who it is, what kind of show, how much you like them, etc Like PO was saying
