Only Fontaine character I'm really interested in Clorinde and tbh I was more into some of the versions in those leaked concept arts than the final. The judge dude and archon might also be cool, idk. Like Sumeru I'll have to see how these characters end up in game because a lot of them grew on me.

All of my primos for Arlecchino. Ok not really since I can absolutely get her with my stash even with bad luck, but I doubt Ill go for Cs on basically any 5*.

You know, I didn't even give any thought to this because I was focused on who was new and when, but after investing into C1 on the last rerun which fortuitously turned into C2, which I've been very happy with, I told myself I might invest fully into Yelan when she came around again. This is a little too soon for that, though. Still, if there is one rerun that might deplete some of my stockpile -- between fates and gems, I have like 300 wishes saved -- that would be the one.

Sidenote: Is Lynette's elemental skill just anemo Yelan?

No, the Harbingers have a pretty tight lid kept on them. She could make a surprise appearance in the story but I wouldn't expect her to be playable for a year or two. Maybe in Natlan, but I imagine most are being saved for Snezhnaya.

I'm really not sure what to make of the harbingers. There's 11 of them, but we've "dealt with" very few so far and I feel like that has to be a thing before Snezhnaya. Mihoyo can save some, but not all.

That's only 4 harbingers in 4 regions, one of whom is still living large. (And that's good because Dottore's a solid villain who I imagine will be an antagonist even after the inevitable joining forces with the Tsaritsa.)

We know we'll have Arlecchino and Childe both putting in appearances in Fontaine, but if they only introduce one harbinger per region, that will make 5 we know jack about when we get to Snezhnaya. I know a couple of them are based there, like Pantalone and Pulcinella, and Arlecchino even says something about how the others don't get out in Winter Night's Lazzo, but from a story-writing perspective, unless we're taking a longview that they need to be part of the game after version 6, Mihoyo needs to start cranking 'em out.

Fan theories expected Sandrone or Columbina to be one of the most likely to appear in Fontaine, for whatever that's worth. (Also worth noting that these are the only remaining female harbingers and there's a ton of dudes left. They break down 7-4, which makes them basically the opposite of the archons where the two guys were first.)

Managed to catch up with the current event in a couple of days. Still need a bunch of Joyeux Vouchers but I already got Kaeyas alt costume and the crown so might just play Baldurs Gate 3 until 4.0

Exploring, new characters, the underwater stuff. Pretty much all of it

Hopefully something to shake things up, feeling pretty stale. I hope the story is entertaining.

Lyney & Yelan is the first banner apparently with 4*s of Bennett, Barbara and Lynette.

I'll be sitting on that until I hear more. Lyney & Lynette's designs don't interest me, and I have C6 Barb and Ben. Strangely, I'm most interested in the prospect of Yelan cons. Very out of character for me, but I pulled for C1 before (got C2 as a pleasant surprise) and she's one of the best characters to go up and down the constellations with, so it's really tempting to be able to go "hey, yeah, I C6'ed a character." With some luck, I might even get there for free, but I'd have nothing left for Fontaine.

I didn't mind the desert...much. I mean, it *is* a desert, and we're really just talking about the initial 3 sections of desert. The northern circle that came later and the final area weren't really any different than an orange-colored rainforest environ.

I can only speculate on the Fontaine cast besides Lynette since I don't look at leaks. Considering this is the first that I've heard Arlecchino is playable, uh, thanks for that?

That is a reasonable assumption, as is 'Arlecchino is likely playable' on account of it being a blindingly obvious conclusion to come to.

I mean...okay. I was only rattling off the characters that appeared in the Fontaine trailer in the poll. Given that we didn't get Signora, can't confirm Arlecchino until Mihoyo announces it. However, I will concede that unlike Signora, who was very clearly only meant to be viewed from the front, Arlecchino has a much more complete, 360 view and seems to use a regular character model, so there's no reason to not believe she'd be playable.

That's what I've heard. Dunno the deal. Lore people have speculated that he's actually some sort of elemental being, like an oceanid or something.

I have a feeling he's going to be a very interesting character or a very unlikeable character, with no real in-between.

I just finished Caribert quest. Wonder if I have to do Nahida, Baizhu and Yoimiya quests before Fontaine. Im too good at procrastinating

I would be surprised if you need to do Nahida's in terms of story requirement, but it does unlock a weekly boss that presumably many of the new units are going to use until we get another. So it's probably a good idea.

Nahida's is at least lore-relevant, so you'll likely want to see it eventually anyway. The others are skippable if you're so determined.

The original runtime for Genshin was supposed to be 5 years. I figure they push it to 7, so halfway through Fontaine.

We can guarantee:

Year 5 - Natlan
Year 6 - Snezhnaya
And probably year 7 - Khaenri'ah/Celestia/whatever else (Abyss?)

It's pretty clear they're on the 1 year = 1 version train at this point.

On the note of questions, which artifact set is everyone strongboxing for? I originally thought I'd do something basic like Emblem, but on second thought, there's a reason I never farmed for Husk, so maybe I try to grab some of that.

given that its an absolute cash cow and prints money, theres no way they wont find some way to create new content after the original run is done

I would imagine they could split Celestia and Abyss/Khaenri'ah into two more expansions, past that I'm sure they're going to continue with something even if it's "Genshin Impact 2" with a new world. I mean that's what they've been doing with Honkai right?

2.5 hours tonight, and I feel like I barely did anything besides reach Fontaine itself. Some dude with a quest at the statue in the city, so I didn't even explore the court because I got enmeshed in that quest instead. At first I was a little worried that the red line that makes up the current world barrier barely offered a way into Fontaine and felt really restrictive, but it seems there'll be plenty to do...at least for a couple days. =p

Nice thing is the artifact domain is right at the entrance, with no barrier to entry.

Will probably avoid the official Genshin board here til I go through Fontaine myself. Looking forward to checking it out. Ive got so many wishes hoarded I should be able to get everyone I want from the region

I happen to be using both in my overworld party. Jean may have fallen out of favor with the cool kids club, but I certainly appreciate having her available and at the ready.

Finally got to Fontaine. Kinda sucks the event has stuff spread out so much like they want you to rush right through things. Ive always been the slow take your time kind of guy

The event? You mean the one where you have to collect stuff? It's not that spread out. They just give you a suggestion for where to find things. The only places that are specific are the two bosses, one of which you're going to find your way to naturally because it's by the opera house.

Ive made a little progress on the event collection. Exploring underwater is so damn cool

Been farming up mats to ascend Lynette before I figure out what kind of artifacts she needs. Activated most of the Fontaine teleports so I should probably get back to the story next.

I finished the Archon Quest last night. Not as strong as Sumeru's opener but I think that's gonna be hard to top for me. The Phoenix Wright homage is cute even if it's not very good lol. Didn't expect to enjoy Navia's character so much and Neuvilette seems to be strongly implied to be the Hydro Dragon(?) which is interesting at least. Plus I'm a sucker for any Childe or other "good" Fatui content.

Haven't explored too much yet but the region is very chill to go around which is a welcome change of pace. I'm surprised how nice the underwater areas are.

The difference between Fontaine and Sumeru is that I feel like the Fontaine opener is setting up for greater mysteries beyond. Sumeru was just "sages are up to some scummy stuff," which did turn out pretty awesome with the heist film bit, but then kinda flattened after that. I have high hopes for where Fontaine might be going with the lore. If nothing else, I think the Fontaine cast might have higher potential story-wise.

I also would not mind if there were more courtroom shenanigans, but I'm also the person actively writing Danganronpa crossovers.

Ive been over here wondering how much longer AR60 is gonna be the cap. I mean its only because I want extra rewards after and not harder enemies, but it does make you wonder if it will ever go beyond 60

I guess this isn't technically my first video game music concert. I did see a FF concert a few years ago. But I'm honestly surprised I got tickets at all after my browser wasn't connecting to their website, and when it finally did, I was over #2000 in the queue. Thank god for phone sales.

For anyone trying to get their reputation up, Fontaine has a bunch of unmarked World Quests so consider using a guide unless you enjoy talking to random NPCs.

Still at 100-100-95. I really feel like I must be missing some key area in Court of Fontaine because two treasure chests didn't even move the needle. I suppose it's possible I'm missing 10+ scattered secrets, but after fully clearing the other two areas...sigh. (And this was after cleaning up my loose markers and finding all the otters.)

Lumidouce Bell feels so much easier to gather than the damn berries in Sumeru desert
