Maybe Countdown to Extinction or Youthanasia. You would probably like the two big songs from both of those albums (Symphony of Destruction and A Tout Le Monde respectively). Honestly though, they are really two separate bands. Despite them being so linked early on they went in two different directions and don't really share a lot of similarities after the first 2 or 3 albums.

Rust in Peace is their best album, and the best Thrash metal album of all time in my opinion. That is usually where I would recommend someone to start. However, based on your list of Metallica songs you may enjoy Countdown to Extinction more. Also, So Far So Good So What has In My Darkest Hour, which is probably Megadeth's song that would most remind you of Fade to Black and Sanitarium, so that may be a good choice as well.

Start with Countdown to Extinction. Then go back until you hit stuff you don't like. Then go forward until you don't like newer stuff.

This is what I'm doing now lol.
I finished Countdown last night. My personal favs were "Foreclosure of a Dream", title track and Psychotron.

After this I wanna try the other 2 of the "Big 4" Anthrax and Slayer. I only know that one Slayer song from Guitar Hero 3. Never Heard Anthrax yet.
Should I just listen to every single album from them too? lol

I think all of them have some elements of boring except for Rust in Peace. That is a masterclass in music.

Also, try giving Mr. Bungle's most recent album a shot (Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo). It's got the drummer from Slayer and the guitarist from Anthrax. It's 3 weirdos that made a thrash metal album in highschool but it was a crappy lo-fi tape cassette. They finally re-recorded it with their childhood heroes!

Just finished Megadeth's first album. Definitely rough.
The Four Horsemen ripoff was a welcome surprise, and I felt the only good song on the album >_>

Well, mustaine wrote that song originally so it's not really a ripoff

Rust In Peace is indeed my favorite so far. Most of the songs were great, not much filler.

Yeah it doesn't get better than RIP imo. The only one of theirs I consistently go back and listen to

Im not the biggest Anthrax fan but I love Caught in a Mosh and Im the Man. I think Among the Living is considered their best album but I really like Attack of the Killer Bs and oddly enough Sound of White Noise which has John Bush on vocals and sounds very different. Whats cool about Anthrax is their humor IMO.

Oh and their collaboration with Public Enemy on the Bring Tha Noize remake is epic. When it came out it blew everyone I knew away.

Agreed! When the worst song is Dawn Patrol thats a damn fine album.

Poison Was The Cure has always been my dark horse pick on RIP. Just listen to the insane riff during the verses:

It's nice to actually hear normal production too.
