I'd definitely prefer to know, but you can just ask when they contact you. It's not a big deal

Yeah, of course. Its essentially standard right now for me. It would be negotiated along as part of the compensation package.

Not worth the time for the industry I'm in. The job description for the jobs I work is pretty standard so if they don't include the salary I assume the pay is trash.

I would take great satisfaction in turning down a job that wasn't willing to pay me adequately, so fuck yeah. Plus, every interview is valuable practice.

I don't see why not.

Sometimes people really need a job. A lot of people here probably got jobs like that, or their first one like that at the very least.

I did during my unemployed status a few months ago, it was a family dollar job, the pay was 10.80. Thankfully I was encouraged not to take the job despite my desperation and now I work a 15.90 job and am happy here, there aren't a lot of people, I'm mostly by myself and the pace isn't as hard on my mind as my last jobs were, the only thing I need to get better at is time management, you see, here there's this app we have to log into every time we do stuff and log out of ever time we do something else which on top of focusing on work can be a bit forgettable however it's very important because it's how corporate measures productivity and bad productivity = termination.

Itd have to be for a dream job scenario, but otherwise no. Not posting salaries is a waste of everybodys time, and this is coming from someone that spent years conducting interviews for a big chunk of my living.

Had to fight past some idiot pigheadedness to get all job listings to give a definitive and narrow salary range for job postings. Made our interview process a lot easier and more efficient.

Pay transparency is starting to become mandatory in more and more states.

Definitely a good thing.

Yes, the average pay statistics of businesses aren't difficult to find. And after that it's just a matter of requesting the right amount to both satisfy your standards based on your exp, and skills while maximizing your chances to get hired.

I didn't ask about pay at my current job until my first day LOL

I was extremely desperate to leave my previous job and assumed there was no possible way I could be paid less, and I was right.

I always thought having the salary listed was the norm? At least for proper, non-minimum wage or temp roles

Yeah. If it was something I wanted to do. Money don't mean shit to me. If it did I would not do what I do, and I'd take my skills elsewhere

Apply? Sure.
Interview? Definitely not.

I'm not going to waste either of our time doing an interview if you can't be upfront about baseline compensation.

It's not really the standard for employers to disclose that in my country. But on the other hand, anyone's taxes are public record, so it's pretty easy to look it up if you get that far into the process.

Not now with Californias pay transparency laws but before it was never posted but a range had to be given when asked on a call. So I always got it early on in the process and proceeded from there.
