Kirby's back in a Mario 3D World style adventure! The first Kirby platformer with true 3D movement! Average is currently 84 on OC and 87 on MC through 35 reviews so far. Seems to be mostly universal praise as one of the best Kirby games ever made!

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of the absolute best first-party titles the Nintendo Switch has to offer. The game feels great to play, looks lovely, and introduces a vibrant and surprising world packed with new mechanics, challenges, and content. Kirby fans have been waiting a long time for his first 3D game, and Forgotten Land truly is the pink ones Super Mario 64 or Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so puff out a sigh of relief and eat heartily.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of those games that's hard to play without constantly having a silly smile on your face. It's far more than just a cute and charming platformer with colorful visuals, though. This is one of the best platformers on Nintendo Switch thanks to its brilliantly designed stages and a dynamic arsenal of abilities that consistently shake up the moment-to-moment platforming and action.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a great big colourful joyride of an adventure for our little pink pal. This first fully three dimensional mainline entry in the franchise is bursting at the seams with fun and inventiveness, managing to transpose everything we know and love about past Kirby games to this all-new arena whilst adding plenty of delightful new aspects as it goes. Mouthful Mode is just as daftly entertaining as it looked in the trailers, each and every level is packed full of secrets and dripping in wonderful detail, and there are enough side activities, collectibles and co-op fun here to keep you entertained and coming back for more for a good long while. What a grand way to celebrate 30 years of Planet Popstar's finest.

Kirby's latest adventure is an absolute treat and one you won't want to miss. With more open platforming in an eye-grabbing 3D world, a generous helping of fantastic features in Waddle Dee Town, and the introduction of Mouthful Mode, Kirby and the Forgotten Land offers up a memorable experience that will undoubtedly make you smile.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is great and should not be missed for Kirby and platforming fans alike. This isnt quite the pink puffs rendition of Super Mario 64, but it brings the series successfully into the 3D realm and doesnt need to rely solely on its latest entertaining gimmick. Kirby thankfully remains as charming as ever and this new adventure can effortlessly provide hours of glee.

IGN - 8/10
Kirby and the Forgotten Land successfully warps the series already fun mix of ability-based combat, platforming, and secret hunting into the third dimension. The post-apocalyptic setting may not be as thematically interesting as Planet Popstar, but it is still lovely and vibrant, with cleverly designed levels that make consistently smart use of Kirbys abilities. Despite the change in perspective, Forgotten Land maintains most of what I love about classic Kirby games and if the future means more 3D adventures for our hungry pink hero, Id be more than happy to swallow them up.

also for those wondering about length the Gamespot review says they played it for about 15 hours. So a little bit longer than your average Kirby game, but not a super long game either.

I've never played any of the DS Kirby games except Super Star Ultra. How are they?

Canvas Curse is VERY good but it's barely a Kirby game, at least in terms of mechanics. Squeak Squad is an extremely generic/mediocre Kirby 2D platformer and I would pass on Mass Attack completely.

You might want to try Mass Attack. It's got some pretty cool elements. I just didn't finish it because it's really hard to 100%. >.>

I think that's a remake of Canvas Curse? But I haven't played it so idk

I'm pretty sure Rainbow Curse is a direct sequel to Canvas Curse with not quite as good a critical reception.

found the demo pretty boring

I mean it seems like pretty standard Kirby, but 3D. I'm just glad to see them expand on Blowout Blast that way, and Kirby games do tend to get better after the first few levels.

I paid $55 and I think Gamestop is offering $48.

It says $60 on GameStops website. Its just weird because Walmart has done this for all Switch stuff. I dont get why Kirby would be $60 when Odyssey, BotW, HW:AoC, AC and everything else was $50 brand new there :(

I wonder how/if the price will impact Kirbys sales at Walmart. Its going to stick out as the only $60 Switch titlelike people might go why is Kirby more expensive than Pokmon, Mario, Zelda, Smash, etc? If the $10 off thing really is coming to an end RIP buying games from them I guess lol

I got it for 20 bucks but it involved trading in Star Allies and Cyberpunk 2077.

Ive barely gotten to touch it since I was busy over the weekend. What I have played has been fun though. I hope the game sells so well they go even more all out on the 3D world with the next one

Thats the Switch for you. Some stuff is above it, but theres a lot of 30fps and shits all over itself when too much stuff is on screen. I know Nintendo has never really prioritized it, but they really should at least make a console that can run steady 60fps one day

The game is currently running at a flawless 60 fps on Ryujinx, just sayin'!

Maybe I'll finally see what Star Allies is like on Ryujinx.

I'm trying really hard to resist the urge to get this. I love me some Kirby and 3D Kirby is like a dream come true. But I've been having a lot of financial issues and have waaay too many other games to play >_<
