There's a part of me that always sort of hates when people call Megalovania "an Undertale song" or otherwise imply it comes (solely/originally) from Undertale.

The song existed before Undertale. Years before Undertale.

Ehh, I suspect most Undertale fans neither know nor care about it, unless it's because they're mildly embarrassed by their potential association with the Homestuck fandom (not that the Undertale fandom is all that much better).

Well, he seems like a relatively cool chill guy in general, so I'm not sure he cares about much anyway.

But it's not a huge deal for me either. That's why it's only part of me that's a little annoyed, rather than it being a full-blown rage that leads me to hunt you all down like the animals you are for your filthy song-misattributing sins.

It's a lot easier to call it an Undertale song, and it makes for a shorter topic title than "here's the pope listening to a song from Homestuck Earthbound ROM hack Toby blah blah blah"
