4/10. Not even getting into the fact that it took so long to get a sequel, either. (Partly because I waited to see the first movie so that didn't impact me as much.)

Basically Incredibles 2 was too thematically and conceptually close to the first film, hitting most o the same beats in roughly the same order. The only difference was playing up some cliche comedy about dads not knowing how to run a household, which might have been funny in 1950 or 1960 but it's got old. As John Oliver would say, "It's CURRENT year."

Loved the banter at the ending, though.
"Just because you saved me, doesn't mean you're right!"
"No, but it does mean you're alive."
And then Dash joking how she'll get a slap on the wrist because she's rich.

I think animated movies can get away with it since you dont have aging actors, but usually not done due to loss of fan base momentum. Sometimes sequels like Dumb and Dumber To just dont need to be made at all. I think Incredibles 2 pulled the time gap off fine and was entertaining for a new generation of fans.

One of the best action movies I have ever seen. The action sequences were legitimately suspenseful.

the story wasnt anything special, but thats to be expected from an action movie.

Id say its as good as the first one.

It's good but, well, the whole concept of the 'twist villain' is really bad most of the time and this movie is a prime example of it. Not as bad as Frozen but still REALLY bad. It would have done much better with a straight-forwards villain. The best parts were with Bob trying to handle the family and I do sort of feel like the movie was a bit harsh on him and played the 'lol stay at home fathers don't know how to take care of the family' card a bit too hard. That said it was really solid and a good entry... just with two really glaring shortcomings.

The only problem with the twist is that the last film just did one and it was kinda similar. The twist itself was fine and, at the time I watched it, felt kinda expected.
