I may need to check my Vita memory sticks to make sure I have access to every game I have bought over the years, and I guess I'll have to check if they're patched, and I'd better download shit on my PS3 too, especially PS1/PS2 classics that I uninstalled to make room.

I don't have room on my vita card to download everything and I'm not about to spend $100+ on a memory card.

My PS3 died a couple years ago and I haven't bought a new one so I guess I'll lose all those games too.

It wouldnt be that big of a deal if they had addressed backwards compatibility by now. They can make it simply work if they want to.

If I put an original Xbox game disc in my series X chances are it will play just fine, maybe just need to download an update. It would be awesome if I could just pop ps1-3 games into a ps5 and onwards and have them play as well.

I went and bought a copy of the Original Red Dead Redemption to play on my Series X and it worked flawlessly.

I think it sounds like they're just removing the option to purchase, at least how they have things worded in the article. I know it's Sony, but surely they wouldn't lock people out of downloading things they already own.

FYI you can still download games on Wii. And they gave over a year's notice for disabling purchases.

Thats actually freaking awesome. 360 discs too? Because I still play those older games from time to time (I was just playing the LotR games on my OG Xbox recently).

Most of them yeah, I think there might be some rare titles that arent backwards compatible but I havent run into that issue yet

Before they added it to gamepass I was playing Morrowind on the series X using just my old copy of the game for the original xbox.

Just let us play PS1/2/3/Vita/P games on our PS5s. Have a legal emulator and then well buy the games.

At the very least they should make a flash sale on the PS3/PSP/Vita stores.

I guess it's finally time to decide whether or not I get Harmony of Despair. I've considered it before, seeing it on sale for 360, but apparently 360 got a gimped version so I've been hesitant.

I have the original Metal Gear Solid from the PS Store on my PS3 and it's annoying to have to lug out the PS3 just to play it.

It's especially weird because you could buy a PS1 game on PS3, and download it on PSP or Vita no problem. They were really pushing Cross Buy at one point.

The closures have been confirmed by Sony. You will still be able to download previously purchased stuff.

Time to buy a bunch of games then.

Sony already ceased all Vita cartridge production last year. Now with this they're officially sticking the nail in the coffin.

It's incredible how long the system managed to last, despite Sony's best efforts. This is like the Grinch seeing everyone in Whoville singing happily, and plowing straight through them on his sled.

DLC and patches, affordable PS1 games, digital exclusives and stuff that never got a physical release over here.

Not sure if it's a server cost issue or whatever that use for money transaction but it's a nightmare. :(
