Yes, and because people don't understand how these cases work, they immediately assume he must have been guilty. And that's the word Amber Heard's attorney has been going with.

If you followed the case at all, you would know that Amber Heard is a maniac liar who staged a bunch of evidence.

The fact that Johnny Depp is still getting punished after all of this by having this role taken from him is extremely sad. He should have forced them to fire him so he could do something actionable.

Judges suck and get things wrong. Like a lot. For various reasons. But this seems extremely accurate. Super strange that the Judge made the particular ruling that he believed these events all occurred.

Depending on the quality of appeal, this will likely go back. I didn't follow this particular case very closely. I was more concerned with Depp vs. Heard. So I don't know exactly how the case was presented or what the arguments were. It's entirely possible it would have led to a difficult ruling against freedom of press so he said "Nah, let's let the appeals court make a decision for me."

Just weird given everything known about the case.

Does anyone care any more? The entire Harry Potter franchise is permanently radioactive thanks to JK Rowling, it's deader than dead and never coming back. Removing Johnny Depp isn't going to make the brand stop being box office poison.

Without knowing anything about the Depp drama/lawsuits I just assumed it was because his character in those movies was terrible. I wasn't sure if that was the fault of Depp or the writer or direct, but still.

So I actually remembered the details wrong, I thought the main actor was defending JKR but it was more speaking out against toxic criticism she got. Really just trying to have his cake and eat it too by defending both trans people and JKR which is more "both sides" bullshit than TERF bullshit. Still some apologism worthy of side-eye but my bad.

Hagrid's actor actually defended her comments and I mixed it up.
