Your vote count for the down ballot. Those have a bigger effect on your day to day life than President. Like if your mayor decides to ban large sodas.

Why even bother voting when its all about the electoral votes?

Because the Electorate votes based off the Popular Vote in their state. If the (R) wins the Popular Vote in Georgia, the Electoral Vote follows that.

If a (R) wins the Popular Vote in California, the Electoral Vote follows that.

The Popular Vote controls everything

Because the Electorate votes based off the Popular Vote in their state. If the (R) wins the Popular Vote in Georgia, the Electoral Vote follows that.

If a (R) wins the Popular Vote in California, the Electoral Vote follows that.

The Popular Vote controls everything
Legally they don't have to follow the popular vote, they can simply decide for their own reasons who should win the state there is no punishment for doing so

There is punishment in many (I think most, even) states. In practice, this doesn't happen regardless.

Hasn't happened since the 60's, and even then it was like 3 electoral votes in Louisiana one time
