Ah, god...every year I see articles online warning that it's coming. I see people on the board bring it up. People talk about it before it happens. This year, I wake up, see one time, turn on my computer, and it's a completely different time. No warning. Just boom, there it is.

On one hand, yay for a free hour. On the other, I'm going to be so fucking depressed now. It'll be dark so freaking early from now on. Why do we do this every year? Why don't we just stay on DST?

Yes. The rest of the USA needs to join civilized states like Arizona and Hawaii.

That's even worse. Then it's *always* an hour less of daylight. (Unless you're some kind of weirdo who gets up before 10 am, anyway.)

My phone and computer switched times automatically so I didn't even realize it had happened at first.

I get up at 6am. It's actually light now instead of dark

The amount of daylight is the same either way

Although I'd rather it be daylight longer than 5 P.M. but yeah

I get off work at 6:30 am, so itll be nice to not be as dark coming home as it is going to work

I'm working from home, so it doesn't really affect me this year. But normally I have to wake up at 6:45, and I love the end of daylight savings because it means I don't have to get up when it's still dark. It's absolutely worth losing an afternoon hour to make waking up less miserable.

I primarily work during after-school hours. I have no reason to see the sunrise.

Also this. There are some days when driving home in the dark has been a challenge for me, for various reasons that I don't think I'd experience when I woke up.

I was awake at the time but didn't notice until like 2 AM (or what would have been 3 AM) when I went "wait how in the hell is it only 2 AM?" before realizing most of the clocks around me had auto-corrected. I have an old alarm clock I sometimes use because the alarm is super annoying (and thus effective) that I glanced at to go "oh right"

where are you that it's 100 degrees at 11 P.M.

Somewhere hotter, dryer, and sunnier then Phoenix.

Heck I think it was over 100 today in the afternoon.

but whether or not we stay on daylight savings time in the winter won't affect your 100 degree days at all.

Also, if it's 100 degrees at 11 PM, bumping that to 10 PM doesn't really fix your problem that it's a hundred degrees well after the sun has set.

It's not a problem anymore since I've moved to Vegas, but there was nothing worse than waking up early and driving to work in the cold, dark, and snow.

Except driving home in the cold, dark and snow, with the existential awareness that you were entirely unable to enjoy any of the sunlight

I mean you're not gonna enjoy it on the way home regardless anyway since it's dark vs. almost dark and getting darker. Atleast in the morning it's getting lighter. The light in the morning is better for motivation.
