I knew when I bought it that it was a divisive game. That kept my expectations in check. But when I played it initially it wouldn't hold my interest for long.

Started playing it after finishing a few other games recently:

The Suicide of Rachel Foster - sort of a walking sim psychological horror-lite. Had a The Shining vibe. It was okay. If you liked Firewatch you might dig it, but it's not as good as Firewatch.

The Last Campfire - It's a puzzle game with very simple puzzles. Easy platinum, and fairly short. If you like your puzzle games to be challenging, steer clear.

Rainswept - sort of a murder-mystery adventure. Story was okay.

7th Sector - very linear puzzle game. Reminded me a bit of Oddworld mixed with Inside. It's okay.

Creaks - made by the people who made Machinarium. If you liked that, you'll like this.

Ghost of Tsushima - third-person samurai game. In the running for my GOTY, but I understand it's not to everyone's liking.

Back to Death Stranding... I guess it's one of those games I have to be in the mood for. Might get burned out after a few more hours playing. I will say that it got a lot better after unlocking some functions and equipment that wasn't available in the early parts of the game. I hate when games do this. I understand some games have a bit of a learning curve and like to ease you into things, but sometimes developers restrict too much and shoot themselves in the foot. I'm curious how many people bailed on this game after an hour or two because the opening is such a slog.

It evokes an odd reaction in that I love it, but would never argue with people who think it's bad. I wouldn't recommend it, but would lend my copy if someone I knew showed interest.

It's fairly simple in terms of game play mechanics and task structuring, but I found myself playing it for hours every day until I finished it.

I don't know if I'll ever play it again, but I feel more than satisfied with the time I invested in it.

I enjoy because (maybe I'm not far enough yet) but there doesn't really seem to be a solid story...you're just a dude delivering packages in post apocalyptic America and that's ok. I just wish you could use Spotify while playing on the ps4. >:(

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

Once you get to a certain point in the storyline where you get the whatever magic handcuffs that can kill the baddies and also the ziplines it becomes much more playable IMO.
