It took a month but WE'RE BACK! GotD is off and running and so was The Show, this week we brought on a Board 8 legend named swirldude who provided a legendary Show Exclusive.

Completely agree on yo and swirl regarding all the blowouts. Remember how we used to get 1 match a day for 24 hours each and tons of them were blowouts anyway?

I would not support going to 64 games. Yeah, a lot of them are getting blown out, but I welcome the variety we get from having the lower end of the bracket here. Besides, half of the games we saw dominating on RE2's day would then just get eliminated in the first round, and we'd just be lamenting only seeing RE2 or Doom, and either Awakening or Bloodborne once the whole contest.

yeah the lack of 80%+ blowouts in 2018 is part of the reason I went so low on my Oracle predictions out of the gate and I've had to readjust

and I get the idea of cutting the bracket in half, but 4 matches per day makes all the fodder more bearable

As far as I remember, Shadow Hearts actually got in last in the 2006 Series Contest, not Madden.

I've got Awakening > Bloodborne next round, but I'm not feeling so great about it now. That being said, I have no confidence in CoDBlOps being worth anything here. It's more that Awakening was underwhelming.

Eh, the game didn't make it into 2015 and it only got an 8 seed here for a reason. It's a Zelda game so it's only going to be so weak, but its ceiling is relatively low.

Ehhhh, Mortal Kombat as a series is stronger than Tekken, but it's because of the first three, not because of any of the more recent ones. If you're arguing MK11 > Tekken 7 and Smash SFF'd Tekken, then you better be calling for a big Odyssey win...!

I played Undertale a few months ago and I enjoyed it, but I didn't mind seeing it get anti-voted into defeat. Let people have their catharsis!

Good news for Dark Souls brackets: Last of Us 2 has been delayed until probably the middle of Summer (was previously going to come out shortly after this bracket).

Final Fantasy 7 is still on pace for its launch in 8 days, however. (Not that it will change any results... unless maybe people are feeling happy about FF and 15 does better against Hollow Knight?)

The whole "DKC is a stronger series than DMC" argument is why you can't just take that at face value when picking individual games. Tropical Freeze just got overshadowed by other popular games on Wii U and on Switch, and it's not going to have the popularity of the first two, and maybe not even DKC3.

Since I'm hitting this part of The Show at a good time, I think you guys might have overestimated how much hated Overwatch is. It's definitely not GameFAQs's wheelhouse, but it's not an anti-vote magnet earlier. D'Va proved last time that GameFAQs will take it in certain situations, and Death Stranding reminded me too much of Aloy in that contest.

Well, if you are going to give that much credit for calling Starcraft, I can at least hang my hat on that upset as well.
