First clue is from Doomsday Clock #12 (Manhattan predicts the future)

Main thing to look at here is the panel with the prediction that Superman will battle Thor, and the Green Behemoth dies protecting Superman... that's definitely the Hulk, right? Or better yet, the Immortal Hulk.

Then from Thor #2 (written by Donnie Cates)

These are pretty obvious. The mention of "league of gods" and "those you have always known and marveled at" are dead giveaways, along with the awesome imagery ofcourse.

There are rumors that DC is going to have another big reboot with it's characters soon, and if that fails, Disney could possibly swoop in and monopolize the two biggest comic book publishers. Or this could just be a very deliberate crossover event titled the "Secret Crisis", a homage to the Secret Wars and Inifinte Crisis. Either way this is pretty fucking cool.

A crossover I could believe if Marvel finally decided it was fine with extending a hand to DC again. But there is zero chance Warner gives up billion dollar IPs.

Highly doubt Marvel will close down though. I'd give that a zero percent chance.

What an absolutely well-sourced video without an agenda.

Marvel's sales are also climbing which makes this ludicrous. Comic sales at DC as a whole are down, but this is far from their lowest level. And let's not forget that comics still serve an insanely important role for DC's mill of profitable shows by creating new characters consistently.

I also want to point out that Didio was the one spearhead behind 5G. According to every actual source out there, from Bleeding Cool on up, AT&T was actually against the idea and wanted to bring in established creative talent instead. That video you posted argues the opposite. 5G might not even happen at this point, even though the whole point of 5G was to bring back the four main established canons as individual lines.

Oh I still need to finish Doomsday Clock, I keep forgetting. But I am so down for a modern day DC/Marvel crossover. I doubt it'll be anything more than one event, though maybe it can be a start to something bigger.

you dont understand, it's okay if Disney has a monopoly on brands because they can put more things in the MCU and kingdom hearts

I meant whats going on in the actual comics. The build up. The merge is just speculation but something is happening in the comics.

A lot of writers who have work with DC and Marvel put their own ideas on indies so that will never die. Most TV shows come from indie titles because its not all about superheroes.

By the way, more rumors coming out today suggest that, while 5G is still rolling it, Warner is already planning to curtail its length and is actively pushing for large high-profile projects featuring the previous generation under the Black Label, which has gained a strong measure of success already. Interesting idea.

Thinking about it more Disney would never have something like Black Label with Marvel unless they change up the marketing strategy. And I'm now second guessing the idea of a Marvel/DC merge.

I think that is a perfect example of how Disney wants to set the tone of the narrative. You could look at the Marvel shows on Netflix as MAX-like and the immediate disregard they received from Disney when the deal expired and Disney could take full ownership of every aspect of the storytelling system.

I don't dislike Kevin Feige at all. I do dislike Disney's attitude towards its stories. It's weird to think that, without Sony, we would be completely devoid of mature tones in Marvel stories. DC does at least embrace its Vertigo weirdness. It also embraces stupid storytelling ideas all over the place, but for a long time, throwing everything at the wall and seeing what stuck gave us some damn wonderful tales.

They don't have to sell DC to give the rights to someone else to make DC books. They could sell the rights to anyone, really, but Marvel is the only established player with the infrastructure to handle it right now. If I was at the top of a huge conglomerate and saw that a tiny little division was trying to foster the best talent they could find while still declining in sales I'd probably want to get rid of that division. At this point the DC IP is worth so much more than the comics portion that they might just wash their hands of it. One of the DC shows probably makes more than the whole comic line now, so business sense says crank those out and stop throwing good money at bad.

I promise you that Marvel is not doing so dramatically better at selling niche comic books than DC that anyone would consider this

why? you think image and all the smaller superhero companies are just going to throw themselves at disney if disney were to buy DC?

(also, disney doesn't even own 100% of marvel, right? i assume sony still has the venom stuff.)

I think if Disney came to the conclusion that they could feasibly "own comic books" they would do so.

Obviously you will always be able to publish independently, but you think they would buy DC and then not try and go after Image, or any other actual recognizable brand?

I'm not saying they would or should, but if DC's parent company is floating it then Marvel is who they'd look to first. Really, though, I don't think Marvel would really want to and Disney definitely doesn't want the two any more closely associated than they are. What I do think is that the comic book aspect of DC very well could be up on the block.
