They could sell the rights to anyone, really, but Marvel is the only established player with the infrastructure to handle it right now. If I was at the top of a huge conglomerate and saw that a tiny little division was trying to foster the best talent they could find while still declining in sales I'd probably want to get rid of that division. At this point the DC IP is worth so much more than the comics portion that they might just wash their hands of it. One of the DC shows probably makes more than the whole comic line now, so business sense says crank those out and stop throwing good money at bad. I promise you that Marvel is not doing so dramatically better at selling niche comic books than DC that anyone would consider this --- DPOblivion was far more determined than me. ...
