I became so used to people praising the 90s and 80s television shows and being disappointed by TV going to shit. I would see that in every nostalgia-related post and video even on Youtube when it was newer.

Also that song by Britney Spears' sister is actually really catchy, admittedly. This is a show I remember 90s kids would shit on but looking through these comments it actually takes me back to the comments I would hear about 90s shows.

That's as may be, but the 90s weren't my childhood years yet I still think it was a superior decade for TV.

What I always found a little odd was the nostalgia for the 1980s atmosphere of GTA: Vice City from people who weren't alive at the time.

I believe it's more just enjoying a time period than nostalgia. Some folk for example love westerns yet of course were not alive at that time.

The 80s was still similar to the 90s though, much moreso than 2000s. It makes sense to me why people not born back then (Maybe born in the 90s) to still feel nostalgic for Vice City. Cassette players, VHS, rock music etc.

I think most decades are similar. It's really all down to preference. I recall the 90's more fondly due to nostalgia and my childhood/teen years yet the reality is the 90's are not much different to now for me.

Wow, I saw this show back then, didn't watch many episodes though, but I was certainly an adult and didn't think anything of the pic of her with her tongue sticking out.

Just goes to show you how things can change in meaning over the years. Girls with their tongue sticking out have a whole new meaning now adays....or at least I'm aware of the meaning at this point.

I mean, you don't have to use your imagination that much to figure it out. It's an adult theme...so doesn't make much sense for a kids show, but yeah it's way more common now adays I guess.

Yeah, that time right after a major terror attack was a great time to be alive. -_- I guess everything is relative, considering that the recession *after* 9/11 looked like nothing compared to the Great Recession that followed a few years later.

Justice League/Unlimited came out in the early-to-mid 2000s and then, a few years later, there was Avatar the Last Airbender, which kinda made it an amazing time for animation. Plus there was that He-Man reboot. Live-action 00s tv... well, that's a bit more of a mixed bag.

Granted, one time vs another generally doesn't make a huge difference between you'll usually have at least some great things on. Granted, 90s live-action was a lot better than 00s live-action, though.

I was born in 1992, which firmly cements me as being an early 2000s kid.

GameCube games, flash games on the internet, Harry Potter books and movies, and Runescape are my main sources of nostalgia.

Zoey 101 was kind of like an anomaly for a Nick show and had this oddly lasting appeal to it that has given it quite a following. It's really weird and hard to properly explain.

I think the ensemble cast was so well put together and the dynamics between them all were really well executed. Also with the on location shooting and non laugh track style of show, it really set it apart. I heard they're planning on bringing the show back soon which doesn't surprise me.

The problem with this is you're looking at it though a adults mind or at least a dirty mind. This is like those adults who look at little kids tops and think "hurr durr that sounds dirty ban it!" while the kid has no idea. Anyone sticking their tongue out can mean many things depending the context. Normal though it means I'm better than you.

I just didn't understand the adult theme of a girl sticking her tongue out. I was married at the time, and my wife loved giving oral (I have never been into it that much...I know i'm strange....but it made her happy), but it just didn't register.

Thing is, in the last bunch of years alot of girls make pictures like that, and I have seen them, so now I think of that when I see it. I didn't back then (who knows I was probably 30 or something shrug).

Also she was probably a kid during the show (don't remember if it was high school or college)...so may not have thought of it because of that as well.

That's a good thing. I'm not a prude really, but I do prefer sexual stuff to remain in the bedroom and not be displayed everywhere etc. Now if I see a girl with her tongue hanging out, I think of it as a sexual thing, instead of just being funny/playing around etc.

I prefered being unaware personally.

But yeah, if you look up porn etc, you'll see it all over the place, it's very common now.

I don't think people would care that much nowadays. I feel like stuff like that wouldn't necessarily be career-enders anymore.

I just found out the writer/producer of the show was fired from Nickelodeon last year and allegedly molested younger female stars. O_o So that makes the possibility of the tongue sticking out being purposely lewd have even more weight :O

That is pretty sick.I thought she was a college student (101 is usually college classes), didn't realize she was a teen teen (actually in HS). I mean, imagine having that pic with Nickalodeon over it lol.

I highly doubt it would happen today, but the fact it's out there is pretty crazy.

And yeah, I watched the show a few times...I shoulda known...but it was along time ago and I saw tons of shows like that. I also watched Saved by the bell the college years around that time I think (might have been a bit before it) and could have gotten em mixed up a bit.
