Board 8 > Beat (my first route of) Fire Emblem Three Houses! *spoilers*

I wound up going down the Black Eagles -- Edelgard route. Here's the pairings I ended up with in my ending:

Byleth x Edelgard
Hubert x Dorothea
Linhardt x Petra
Ferdinand x Bernadetta

I think the character that impressed me the most in combat was Caspar. This guy went from a so/so axe wielder to dominating with the gauntlets. Also have to shoutout Felix, he critted SO MUCH all the time it was nuts. Of course Byleth excelled and Edelgard was a literal wall even to the Immaculate One, but those are to be expected.

My personal favorite of the support conversations was probably Ferdinand / Hubert's A+ support.

I know people say this route is the worst one, or that it's too short. Apparently it is 4 chapters shorter than the others? If so then I can see why. There's definitely some things left a mystery here, and I expect a lot of that is filled in by the other routes.

I think if I do another route soon it'd be the Golden Deers, if only because they're the group I know least about.

Caspar was almost my lowkey MVP on the final map of Crimson Flower. He and Ingrid basically took on the left side of the map by themselves. War Master + Killer Gauntlets + Unlimited Free 50% Heal from Healing Focus he was a monster.

The end maps for both Acts in Crimson Flower (Chapter 12 v the monastery and the final map) are so good.

Golden Deer is the route to go for. Blue Lions don't have many answers to mysteries either

Golden Deer is best saved for last as if you intend to do all 3. If you don't intend to do all 3, then go for the Deers.

I DO want to play through all the houses, just don't know how long it will take me to get to all of them.

I was impressed not only by how much voiced dialogue is in the game, but also how much unique dialogue is in it too. If you have Felix you can have him fight his father on Chapter 16 or so. On 17, when you fight Dimitri, there's a special conversation Dimitri has with Felix specifically if Felix killed his father. That's a crazy level of detail!
