For pie, I just made one this past week and the recipe I used suggested half Granny Smith and half McIntosh. They paired okay but the Granny Smiths were a bit bigger so even though I used 4 of each like they suggested it wasn't an even split, and it turned out good but not great. --- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... I had never seen it before then!
