From what I can tell in my research, Sonic The Hedgehog 1, Sonic Chaos, and The tails game are probably the best sonic games, at least

My brother and I had the Power Rangers one which was pretty fun (if there are multiple MMPR games on there, it's the fighting game style one).

Avoid Defenders of Oasis. It started out decent but as the game progresses the enemies get stupidly hard and random encounters so frequent that any and all fun is sucked away.

The two on SNES, the Zord one, the racing game, and Two on Genesis because despite having the same name and cover, they're different from the SNES ones. Also a random translated one on NES from the Koryu Sentai series

Oasis was legit decent for like 90% of the game, but in the last few areas there are enemies that all of your attacks do very minimal damage on and the random encounters happen like every other step and it just becomes insanely frustrating.

Pretty much every worthwhile GG game has been ported to other systems. Some of the Sonics you mentioned are good.

Tails Adventure is easily the best Game Gear game I've played, and single-handedly justifies a GG system purchase. The Battletoads port is really solid. The GG version of Sonic 1 is wonderful, as is Sonic 2 if you're a masochist. Sonic Blast is a decent romp.

For the most part, you are correct: most of the GG library is comprised of lesser versions of games widely available elsewhere. And yet, there is something weirdly charming about it. It's comparable to the Wii U, in a sense. (Within that analogy, Pikmin 3 would be the equivalent to Tales Adventure.)

The Aladdin port is good. Some other ones too that I can't remember. But there's zero reason to take them over their home console counterparts unless you specifically are looking to wield an actual GG.

Ninja Gaiden is the only one I can think of, but that might even have a Master System version that is better. Most good GG stuff is also on Master System with a better screen size

Sonic Drift games are ok

It was mentioned already but yeah, Tails Adventure is my favorite game for the console.

Mega Man on Game Gear is hilarious. You can scroll the screen "camera" around by holding the jump button and the Mega Buster does a whopping 4 units of damage instead of the usual 3 like in the other games. It also has the best fight of all Toad Man hopped on crack

Sonic Triple Trouble is probably my favorite Sonic game on the Game Gear.

Streets of Rage 2 is surprisingly good and also worth checking out. Has an exclusive level and even an exclusive boss You totally fight the freakin' Predator

Ristar is also pretty good on Game Gear and it even has an exclusive level.

You should definitely check out both of the Shinobi games on Game Gear. They are legitimately very good and are sorely overlooked. Especially the second game.

The G.G. Shinobi and The G.G. Shinobi II: The Silent Fury is what they are called.
What's cool about them is you get to play as different colored Ninja and you can switch between them. They even have different powers.

Came here to say Power Rangers, glad to see it was already covered. There were two, one based on the first season of the TV show, another based on the second season and the movie. Both use the same gameplay engine but different characters (the 5 original Rangers, Goldar, and the Putty Patrol are in both), and the second game adds a super meter.

They're probably the best Power Rangers games, maybe along with the SNES fighting game, until the current Battle for the Grid fighting game.

Game Gear Shining Force got a better remake on Sega CD, which also included the previous game we never got in English

There's a third one on Game Gear that we never got in English called Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict. No idea if it's good though

I haven't played a single shining force game so thats why I'm holding off on getting random spin offs and gaidens and shit

I do have 1 and 2 on Genesis on the ready if that makes yall feel better

While I do think SoR2 is a fine game, i'm not a huge fan of it, my heart belongs to Final Fight. So I'm not a super fan eager to try out a single never before played level because I guess I just don't care that much.

Thats why I'm wanting to try this dumb lookin Double Dragon, I AM a big super fan of the ol DD lol

he turns like 5 episodes after he debuts, so the one you had is not based on the movie

Jurassic Park really is a cute little game. Very short and fairly easy, though.

Other than that, the only half-decent GG game I've played is Sonic Chaos, and even then I think the general consensus is that Triple Trouble is better.
