I started about a month ago to add something new to my exercise regimen and I'm hooked now. I've been working on getting the right positions for both a great workout and progression. I keep fine-tuning my list to make it flow better, but I haven't gotten it 'perfect' yet. Today I did 55 minutes and it was quite intense in the middle of the routine.

What yoga positions do you prefer? Which do you find the most challenging? I can do the crow pose for a few seconds, but I lose my balance when breathing out.

I used to do yoga all the time. Loved it, but ran out of places to use Groupons at lol. If everyone did yoga, the whole world would be way more chill.

Crow pose is a lot of fun. Lizard too.

You able to do headstand yet?

I haven't tried yet. I do lizard and pigeon. I like the warrior set as well.

O...k. Thanks for the 4 a.m. necro-bump just before the topic purged so you could share in the discussion that died 3 days ago.

Regularly, no, but I have severe nerve damage in my leg/groin from cancer-related surgeries I had a few years ago and sometimes stretching it out like that will help me feel better. In which case I just pull up a YouTube video; nothing fancy. I typically stick to more cardio-type exercise, though, like running or dancing..

Honestly, I want to, but I'm not really sure exactly how to start. I have bad back spasms, though, and I hear that yoga can do wonders there.

I do DDP Yoga to help keep away the wear and tear of still playing basketball twice a week into my late thirties. Works great, I recommend it for anyone that does a sport/martial art etc

I noticed almost all the joint and muscle issues I had went away immediately after I started yoga. It's a great side effect!

My first day was watching beginner's yoga on YouTube. After my third session I decided to up the ante and put together my own routines. I'm still fine tuning, but I've got a set I'm really looking forward to trying. Maybe tomorrow. I use it on days I'm not doing cardio. They go well together in weight loss.

I put it off for so long for that reason. I'm so glad I finally started. All you really need is enough space on your floor to stretch out and the willingness to maybe feel weird at first if you live with others. If you like it enough you can spend like $8 for a mat at Walmart. YouTube has some cool beginner's videos. All I do is push my couch back a few feet and move my coffee table. Sweep the floor if needed and roll out my mat. Don't be intimidated! It's just stretching and breathing. Here's the video I watched for my first session.

I got the DDP DVDs. The actual work outs provided by them aren't great IMO. Having a smooth talking, pretty bendy lady instruct me on yoga, now that's something I can get into. But the tenets of DDP yoga could be put into any yoga work out you do. I have about 10 discs worth of yoga work outs and then will do them on prime or netflix as well. I add in the DDP stuff every couple of times even though I haven't watched the discs in forever.
