To me this is the real contest and I love participating in it. I dont think weve had a contest and not have the Oracle. But just want to reach out to see if we can keep this tradition alive. Id do it but Im not website-data collection savvy.

And this is basically only King Morgoth at this point since he coded the site. Prior to the start of the 2013 contest, ShatteredElysium was given the login access to the Oracle site and made an attempt to try and implement a 3-ways format for 2013 contest. However, the site's code is reported to be very difficult for other people to understand and drove ShatteredElysium nuts trying to figure out the site's code.

To make matters worse, it's almost impossible to access the Oracle site and takes an extremely long time for the site to load. It took 2 minutes, 41 seconds to download the site's homepage using curl. The site's decaying infrastructure basically means that someone else would be better off coding an entirely new Oracle site from scratch than to try and fix all of the problems with existing site.

We did have a team challenge for GotD and Rivals. I don't remember if there was a team challenge for 2013 since that had to be run manually as no one could implement a 3-way format on the Oracle website.

Yes jump for joy, Contest fanatics, I had a chat with Morgoth and he's going to see if he can get the oc.com site back up and running for us! I also got in touch with creativename, he's going to check his database settings this week and will try to restore everything on gamefaqscontests.com so we can have our 2018 poll update tracking.
