I'm taking one math class I feel like an underachiever/failure.

Well, when I say that I'm not trying to make it sound like even older people are failures or anything like that. So I guess my own perception of myself should also not be one of failure but... it is >_>

Same. I took a science class with another classmate's mother once. She was like.... 60 or so. She was a smart cookie. I myself am 31 and I personally love the college experience. I wish I did it straight out of high school but at the same time, I never would have focused or given a shit back then. Now, I do.

Same. I took a science class with another classmate's mother once. She was like.... 60 or so. She was a smart cookie. I myself am 31 and I personally love the college experience. I wish I did it straight out of high school but at the same time, I never would have focused or given a shit back then. Now, I do.

That's how I felt when I went with there on Saturday... seeing these folks who just graduated high school (I presume) signing up for classes, and... being in this place that felt kind of like high school, it was a complete change of pace from what I'm used to.

It's a bit intimidating in a way.

Almost all of my classes had people 40 and up with a few in their 60s. Nobody was uncomfortable or felt out of place.

There was only one time it made people go wow and that was a Use of Force class where this little apaniah lady in her late 50s that couldnt have been more than 53 flipped and pinned a former US army soldier that had over a foot and 150 pounds on her. Even then, it was just that we were all impressed.

You really should attempt to mate. At college, everyone is 18 or older so go for it. Except there are some PSEO students. Make sure not to try to mate with them.

When I went to community college there were a lot of working guys in their late 20s/early 30s just taking singular courses to learn an applicable computer program. Its kind of a sign that youre actually in a pragmatic course. Now if youre taking a humanities course at that age...you probably missed the boat.

yeah. one thing i learned going to college later than usual is that others dont care as much as I did. i too felt out of place but i do the study and work cause bad habits in anywhere new is a bad impression and just sucks cause you lose out on chances to do or learn something more. not only that but others accepted me for who i am and what i do. so it wasnt as bad as id imagine at all. in fact, id get invited to stuff and even get job offers from folks in my class. plus, others think im younger with some work experience. i felt good getting complimented about looking almost a decade younger than i actually am...

If anything the older people tend to be the least irritating people in the class.

That was my experience with my limited time in college, at least.

I remember I had this 60 year old cranky black man in my statistics class that would argue with the 60 year old german professor every day. Good times.

Yeah, no one cares. There were plenty of 30 year olds and even a few in their 40-50s in my undergraduate classes. No one cares, and it's just great they're trying to better themselves.

I teach C# but could teach either of those if they needed me to. Im just adjunct, so Im limited to he number of hours Im allowed to instruct per semester, and the intro to C# and the other course I teach (systems analysis) usually fill that limit.
