No, I'm not one of those "PC Master Race" gamers.

I already have a good PS4 library since I've been buying a lot of games on sale. So far I have a few PS Plus games, Alien Isolation, The Last of Us, The Witcher 3, RE5, and some other games too.

I'm very excited to hop back to console.

And I can't wait to play Overwatch again. I haven't played it in months and with the new character reveal today, I just can't take it any more! I must play Overwatch again! And I'll be doing it on PS4.

That's all. My PC is broken, I miss gaming. I'll buy a PC late this year when I can afford one.

Because it'll take me a while to buy the PC I want.

PS4 is the most affordable option I have and I really, really miss playing video games.

You're going to want a bigger HDD in your PS4 unless you're willing to delete and install things regularly so there's extra cost already, while depending on what's 'broken' with your PC, you can probably repurpose some parts and get it back up to speed for only a few hundred, give or take so what you're really saying is that you'd rather use console and your PC problems are a pretext?

I'm willing to delete and install things as I go. I'll only have a few things installed that I'll keep playing all the time.

And no, it would be too expensive to repair my computer. It's an iMac.

But with the hardware of a moderately priced laptop...you could put a reasonably decent gaming PC together for $500+ these days so if you're buying your PS4 brand new, you're not doing yourself any major favours because there's no room for upgrades when you've got more $ to spend.

Nobody said anything about running games on full settings. A $500 PC can definitely compete with the performance of a PS4, which is a more relevant benchmark in this case.

you're spending close to $400 just for a gpu that maybe can perform just as good as a ps4 can, so no, you're literally not making a $500 PC that can perform like a $200 ps4.

No. The PS4 would still be more affordable.

I'd want to play my PC games at max or near max at 60 fps (or higher). I cannot find a laptop for $500 that will play games at those settings.

So I'd rather buy a PS4 and play the games I already have on it, and buy a PC later this year when I have more money to buy something that will last me a good while and has the specs that I want.

Edit: If I could find a laptop that at that price that can run the games at the settings I want, I'd buy it.

I have. I even bought MGSV: TPP for PS3 but I changed my mind and decided that I'll just buy a PS4. Also because I want to play Overwatch and I can't play that on last gen hardware. I used to play Overwatch every day and I miss it so much. Haven't played it in months.

please build me a PC that would be more price-effective than a ps4 with similar gaming capabilities. there's a ps4 PRO on american amazon for $400 and it includes star wars battlefront ii. if you can go lower than that i will concede.

you can even leave out the monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. if you'd like. just build me a tower.

Yeah, building a gaming PC right now is expensive due to crypto currency miners. A Pre-Built Gaming PC is more affordable than building your own gaming PC. Unless prices went down. I stopped checking recently.

i hadn't even considered the crypto thing tbh. that bubble is starting to burst. but even before then you really couldn't build a serviceable gaming PC in the 400-500 range. i spent around 800 on mine in 2015, and it's good enough for me mostly, but not mind-blowing.

Have you been checking prices recently? Because I have. It was more affordable to just buy a pre-built.

I really looked at all the options for a gaming PC.

Edit: You also have to buy a Windows 10 license, something that's already included in pre-builts. I know you can probably buy a W10 key for like $20 on ebay or something, but I don't trust those.

Yep. And I'd have to buy a new monitor as well. A cheap one is like $100 or so.

That's why I decided that the PS4 would be the best option for me right now. I'll buy a kick ass gaming PC later this year or something with the specs I really want.

You don't have to be into dragonball. The mecahnics are really fun to play with. I personally don't own the game but there are quite a few people in the tournaments that know nothing about dragonball. It is a really great game. The auto combos do barely any damage and are there mainly for set up strings. Manual combos give you much more damage. This helps players whoi are getting into the game as well as giving tools to each character as the strings are mainly used for set up by the pros.

edit: I also like to add it haas been considered a pretty balanced game. Their is really only like 3 overpowered people and the rest are still viable. with like 2 -3 garbage characters. You should check out the tier lists people have made. Game is great dude, you should at least check it out more. If anything get it along with street fighter V.

I did, and if anything you are the person spreading miss-information.

Yes, if you want to run games on maximum you are going to spend more then a PS4, but you also aren't going to be able to do that on a PS4 Pro anyways so it is a moot point. You also don't need a GPU, Memory, or a CPU cooler to run games, just using on-board graphics and memory from the motherboard will do it while still giving you the option to upgrade later (something that the PS4 won't give you). Hell, you could go even cheaper and buy a Raspberry Pi if all you play is indie games.

Plus in 10 - 15 years when the online service for whatever game you bought is dead, it is more likely that the PC version will at least have mods so that you can still play it vs the PS4 version which won't.

Did someone not read "reasonably decent" ? That doesn't mean running games on the lowest setting, which is what you'd have to do. And it doesn't mean being able to play only indie games that have PS2 level graphics. In the PC world, reasonably decent means you can run new games at least on medium settings. Which a $500 PC cannot do.

I gave you 4GB which is enough, and you don't need a GPU as it's a solid APU.

With this you can play PS4 games, then when GPUs go back to normal pricing you can cash in, and if you feel you need more RAM you can stick in more sticks. This is far more price-efficient than buying a PS4 AND a gaming PC in one year.

I'd still need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and W10 key. It all adds up. I don't want to end up with 2 PCs later this year and I want a far better performance than your suggested build.

Even when I buy a gaming PC this fall, I'll still have the PS4 for exclusive games. And I have quite a few PS4 games I don't have on PC at the moment (like the Witcher 3 for example).
