It was a big year in my life. I had lost interest in anime and manga for the most part and was a bit lost artistically. I took my first drawing class, which was pretty lousy, but I then discovered the realistic art tradition (which was making a comeback) and that has influenced the past 10 years of my life.

This was the year that video games went to shit on a consistent basis.

Found out that my friends were in pretty shitty people.

Dad decided to throw a swing at me in an argument.

I got banned on Facebook because I didn't join a school network.

I was a junior in high school.

I bought my first car...it broke down nine months after.

It was the year I got introduced to the AVGN.

That meh TMNT cgi movie came out.

Got into a cool community with Streets of Rage Remake fans as we waited for the final version to release a few years down the road. We are still pretty good friends.

It wasn't a great year outside the AVGN and SORR thing.

Got my current car, extended esay, all those other papers for the IBO, banged head against wall (literally) in a history exam, science fair on astronomy, passed English with literally a 60, passed physics with literally a 102, took some AP and IB tests, apparently caused a scene by not taking an AP test, graduated high school, bagged groceries, Mrs. DevsBro cried when I moved for college, started college, roomed with best friend, missed my first ever college class because they changed the room at the last second, ended up with a 28% attendence rate in college Physics I. That's about it.

I remember a lot, actually.

- Getting stranded in an airport overnight by bad weather
- Honey and Clover <3
- Second semester freshman year
- Fearing I'd bombed my comp lit final
- Hearing the Flaming Lips for the first time
- The final Harry Potter novel
- My first full time job. Awful, not because the work was bad, but because everyone's attitude was total booty, and no one wanted to be there. My co-workers got high in the maintenance closet and then tried to come for my for reading HP7 on my break. Girl, bye.
- Buying my own books for the next semester with my own money. <3
- Meeting two of my best friends and learning my disparate circles of friends was actually one giant incestuous circle of relationships, and there was so. much. TEA. I simply hadn't noticed freshman year because I spent all of my time holed up in my room playing video games. Suddenly I had a social life.
- My first political protest! More new friends!
- My first time visiting NYC
- I got the work study position at library after badgering the staff for literal months, YAAAASSS. I live here now.
- My first run in with post-modernist philosophy. It's a good fit
- A really frustrating yet also fun class about politics and political performance in popular media taught by my favorite professors
- The first (and last) time I got blackout drunk
- Worst roommate situation I've ever encountered. It got way better though.
- Persona 3. Hours spent in abandoned classrooms hooking my PS2 up to the projectors and binging Digital Devil Saga and Persona. My first encounter with a Dynasty Warriors game <3
- My first black Friday and winter season working at Bath and Body Works. I actually loved this job because everyone worked so well together, and the days were always busy so work went fast. My first day had me working from 6 AM to 11 PM, and I felt super awake the whole time because I just didn't have time to get bored.
- Seeing the Flaming Lips live

Oh God. I think this is when I started playing Magic the Gathering
