Image I've never played Stardew Valley since it first came out on PC. What updates/new things have been added to the game since (that I assume are in the switch version)? Is there significantly more/new stuff in the game now?

Emily and Shane are romanceable now
There are multiple new farm plots selectable that offer different playing experiences
Some new endgame farm buildings and such

Other than that mostly just a lot of balance changes and bug fixes I think

On PS4 it's really weird how they make you use an on-screen cursor for some things for no good reason.

yeah there was a lot of forced cursor usage and the attempt to switch from cursor to standard arrow keys was cumbersome to put it lightly. It seemed like the game was designed for a mouse but then put in arrow key support as an afterthought

The controls were never awful to me. But the answers before pretty much cover it.

I believe they actually patched it so you can change the setting between onscreen cursor or simply using the d-pad to navigate through menus. and the default is now using the d-pad. that being said... the d-pad actually gets stuck on things pretty often, especially in the crafting menu, and I had to change it back to the onscreen cursor so that I could effectively play the game. be careful what you wish for, basically.

you have a choice between the onscreen cursor (which is slow and clunky, but precise) or using the d-pas (which is fast but really glitchy and tends to get stuck on objects rather than selecting what you want)

so in a way... not really? you just have a mediocre and a bad option instead of only a mediocre option. if you already didn't like the mediocre option then they did nothing to fix the issue for you.

Is stardew only available as a digital purchase or is there a stardew cartridge on switch?

My brother has a switch that i have regular access too but im planning on getting one this year. I don't want to put stardew on his system if i can't move it onto my own later.

Overall, is it worth buying it on Switch over PC?

ps4, sorry. that's the version I have. I thought I mentioned that in my original post but somehow I forgot. it's kind of a crucial detail too. I have no idea what the switch version did about this issue.

Aw shoot. If they didnt fix it for ps4 i doubt they did for switch.

Its a shame too! Nothing kills enjoyment of a game like bad controls
