Poll of the Day > After researching aliens for weeks, it's obvious they exist... why deny them?

Not trying to sound like some crazy cuck (or have men in black stalk me) but why are people so quick to dismiss any form of alien life (I'm pretty confident that basic and more advanced life is out there)

Is it fear, or the fact that what would be the point of interacting with them? One of my biggest concerns is the idea that if we were to meet a more advanced form of civilization, we'd wish we didn't. Not because of possible dangers but just what we would learn about the true nature of the universe and how it would screw up how we view everything today

Anyway, not coo-coo but curious. Do you believe?

After watching X-Files I question why Maulder was so persistent in trying to prove alien live.I mean, I highly doubt society would handle it well, can only imagine the backlash

A big factor is religion. The idea theres another creation of Gods is unsettling at best for some people. The idea is heresy to others.

It's weird thinking that people only believe in one God. IF you are religious, it makes since to think there are many gods. Never understood why people have that mindset but I guess you're right. It would fuck up the religious crazies who are already unstable/threatening

Books, videos etc. If you're really lazy just watch some YT videos of "Most famous cases" and see which ones are phony and which ones aren't. There's a lot of great material I'll post it if you really wanna look into it

True, but mind you there are a bunch of questions that come to mind. If we say they don't exist, that would mean history books are wrong in saying ancient civilizations weren't as "advanced" as we think they are. We're wrong either way on something in history regardless if whether or not they are real

Probably because no objectively credible evidence exists, regardless of what you may personally believe.

Aliens are literally modern religion - it's something you either believe in or disbelieve, regardless of proof, and no one else is ever going to convince you otherwise. For those who believe, circumstantial evidence or implication will always be more than enough proof, and for those who don't, circumstantial evidence or implication is entirely meaningless.

Even in terms of pure science, there are ample arguments on both sides of the fence to support the existence/non-existence of sapient alien life, especially in the context of whether or not any of it has ever discovered/visited Earth within the narrow window of humanity's existence as an aware species.

Or the books you're reading are some ancient aliens bullshit. Ancient civilizations weren't that advanced. They weren't not advanced either. Almost every situation people have pointed to as evidence of aliens has been thoroughly debunked, half the time by some dude in his backyard with too much time on his hands.

Why are there ancient pyramids everywhere? Because pyramids are easy to make.

How did they build stonehenge? Pile up a bunch of dirt and put rocks on it.

What about those weird orblike rocks that people think are GPS markers or some shit? They don't actually make the 'perfect' lines people claim they do.

Those crystal skull things? Found out to be bullshit.

You were, right here. You implied that ancient civilizations were 'advanced' because of aliens.

While life and aliens could exist on other planets, it is highly unlikely that it can travel here. The primary reason for that is the age of the universe and how long ago life would have existed on other planets.

In so much time, even space exploration at a fraction of light speed would have ended up colonizing every possible planet that could support life, and even with the technology we have now, many that could not naturally.

Even just 1 species 10 billion years ago that started exploring space, would have spread out exponatially, and would have been here before humans even existed.

There would certainly be many species if you just base everything on logic/math/statistics so there must be a reason why that is not the case.

Could be things that prevent space travel beyond solar systems or galaxies that we do not currently know. Could be intelligent life is limited by a certain factor and therefore localized to a planet or a few planets far away from each other, could be many explanations.

The most likely reason though is there is either no other intelligent life in the universe, or, there is something that prevents intelligent life from escaping it's local area of space.

Either way, no UFO's here, no aliens visiting etc.
