North Korea's military vowed a new and unusually specific threat to its neighbors, saying it would reduce South Korea "to ashes" in less than four minutes.
The statement, released Monday when programming was interrupted on North Korea's state TV by a special report, comes amid rising tensions on the Korean peninsula.
...
According to the Associated Press, the statement from North Korea was unusual in promising something soon and in describing a specific period of time.

Hey, if we're going to invade Iran for wanting to reduce Israel to ashes, we might as well invade North Korea as well. It's funny how the only time we don't invade countries for making threats is when they are made towards us (Soviet Union). MGS3 doesn't count.

The entire country of North Korea will be revealed to be a secret giant robot and will transform and step on South Korea. It took many many years of secret planning to import so many materials and completely roboform the landscape. The end is nigh.

If NK attacked someone, and the world retaliated, China would most definitely not defend them. China will protect them from unprovoked attacks, maybe, but they're really not valuable enough for China to pick a fight with the entire world.

Man, can you imagine if all of North Korea was just one big transformer? Like, if the land just sort of rose up out of the ground and twisted around to form a giant robot? I would be f***ing rooting for them to pulverize South Korea.

hey now, they wouldn't go to war with south korea because it'd be gone! keep up, HM.
now they wouldn't want to go with the US, Europe, and India, no. and if history has proven anything, it's that Japan has a good habit of beating China down too.

I also don't think China would act if North Korea did something first. The government has moved away from support other communist countries to being self-serving. "To get rich is glorious" - Deng Xiaoping. If the wikileaks cables are any indication, the Chinese government has no faith in the country and views them as a liability.
If a war was to break out, they'd probably do this:
- Scold western powers for interfering in Asian politics - Not send troops to support North Korea, but pay them lipservice. - Offer to serve as a mediator.

From: Emporer_Kazbar | #004 So are they saying South Korea will be reduced to ashes four minutes after the attack starts, or in four minutes from the time of the announcement?
I didn't even consider it could mean the former, but I guess that makes more sense since I heard about this well over four minutes ago.
