Yeah well something's always "being worked on". How long have they been working on FF VS XIII and KH3? >_> Plus I mean I already figured it would happen eventually with Neku's appearance in DDD, but I'm not gonna get too hyped for it until I see some concrete release dates and promising screen shots.

tWEWY was a perfect example of a game that just missed the mark in my opinion. It set itself up to be so good but then it just kind of ended and I had no reason to level up my badges anymore.


If it had a secret ultra hard epilogue or something it would have been one of my favorite games ever

are you absolutely bat**** insane or something? The World Ends With You is VERY well-loved, often considered one of the best JRPGs in ages, definitely near the top for the generation.

people who place the DS on the same tier as the PS2 or SNES are crazy, it has more in common with the wii(in that it is the wii's direct predecessor, the moment nintendo realized that control gimmicks sell better than making high quality software)

It.....kind of did.

After you beat the game you unlock harder bosses and the Ultimate difficulty, missions to get Secret Reports, as well as The Ultimate Enemy.

Plus you basically have total control over your stats. The game is as hard as you want it to be.

What I would hope happens is that it's a new story in a new neighborhood, completely new characters (except Hanekoma and maybe Joshua due to their significance), but still the same universe and concept. I don't think we need to revisit the Shibuya story anymore.

they're actually probably the best of the console manufacturers at least in terms of ethics, sony is literally an evil corporation and half of its board of directors should probably be in prison...people give them more slack though because they generally put out a pretty good product

Well the secret ending implied that the Conductor and Composer would have to deal with fallout from people even higher up than they are, so that's probably where they'd go with a sequel.

At least, it seemed like they were playing it as a sequel hook for me.

Yeah, true. They also made a point that there are other cities participating in The Game as well, so that's probably where they'd go as far as that goes.

Still, I would be disappointed if Neku didn't show up in some form! Not necessarily as the main character, but a temporary main/partner/secret boss would be excellent.

And Minamimoto. He HAS to return.

I don't get SE at all. They claim that Chrono Trigger does not have enough fans to get a sequel when the second port of the game outsold TWEWY on the same system by at least double.

Sure they can. Jupiter is the one that did TWEWY, Square oversaw it at best. if Jupiter says "yo, we made back our budget and then some, can we make a new TWEWY?" Square has no reason to say no.

What about Parasite Eve? its hiatus was basically the same amount of time as the chrono series, and it has a new game, that can't even match CTDS's numbers. Also, I'm almost certain that at least a good portion of the supervisory staff that worked on Chrono Trigger is still around, not like it matters because I mean it's not like Chrono Cross had the same staff either.

They make a point that when Reapers die, they fade away. But IIRC you could see Sho's arm sticking out of the pile of junk, which means he can't possibly have been killed.
They also make it pretty clear that Sho is one of the strongest characters, after Neku and Joshua.

I'm pretty sure a TWEWY sequel would either be a prequel or an unrelated story in another city's Reaper Game. Both of these were hinted at in the original game.

*SPOILERS*




They mention how there was only one other time where they had that many Reaper Games in such a short period of time, and never elaborate on it, and later they mention how different cities across the world have these games, each with their own set of rules. When they've already set up these sequel hooks, it seems unlikely that we'd get a straight sequel like you guys think.

Oh, agreed, but c'mon, it's TWEWY. It does literally EVERYTHING FF does poorly, except it manages to pull it off. Like seriously, you could call it "Final Fantasy: Modern Antithesis" (just to fit into the ridiculous names that are tied to FFs these days) and it'd describe it perfectly.

I dont get why people are so hung up over the staff. You dont have to use the same staff. CC was completely different than CT. Yeah CC was terrible as a sequel but at least it's an example of square trying to do something.
