Why not both?

One helps people who are already stuck in that situation; the other helps prevent more people ending up there in the future. Seems like a good idea to do both, no?

To answer the question you asked in the other thread that locked, and especially since this topic is about student loan relief, the article you posted in that topic had one of the girls saying she's mad at Biden for not canceling student loans and getting Roe v Wade overturned.

It's best not to worry about catboy's political opinions.

Everything he believes was handed to him by chuds on the discords and he believes them without question.

The treasury can make an infinite amount of fiat currency to loan. Whether it's paid back or forgiven, it's going to be deleted just as easily as it was created.

Have you thought about using a text reading program for editing?

If you can find something that reads it back out loud it'd probably help for posts you don't want misconstrued.

Just do a fucking stimulus like during COVID, limited to middle class and lower incomes on a scaling basis.
But then rich people w/ $250K joint income (the limit on Biden's $10K/$20K original plan) couldn't benefit and we couldn't stick it to those who paid it off already or never went to college, so it didn't have enough spite for peoples' tastes.

Half the dollars in circulation in 2021 were printed in 2020 by Trump's Federal Reserve.
And w/ the benefit of hindsight we now know that had absolutely zero negative impact on the value of a dollar.

I dunno, I was a lot more upset about this back when I had recently paid them off.

I still think people who are currently in that situation deserve some consideration. But I also don't see it as that big of a deal anymore. We gave up a lot more money than we spent on student loans when we decided to have kids, for example. Or buy a house in the 'burbs vs middle of nowhere. Or finance that house.

SLF would help a ton of people, and a ton of these people didn't really know what they were getting into. I mean, you're 17 or 18 years old, our education system has failed you when it comes to personal finance, these people flash cash at you alongside some numbers you don't understand that turn out to add up faster than you expected...

Yeah. I have a lot more sympathy for these people than I did back when I was caught up on "I DID WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO." Sure, it was true. But I also got a headstart on life by happening to have people teach me how this stuff works, so I had relatively modest loans and paid them off before they could accrue absurd amounts of interest. So in a way I can only halfway relate anyway.

The PPP was a loan to businesses, banks, conmen, to pay employees, and maybe stay open.

Student Loans are loans for students from the government to pay the government. It's completely unnecessary as the public colleges are already built.

Why does no one care k-12 doesn't require loans?

Reeeeally hope my loans get forgiven soon. I got an email from the DOE saying Im possibly eligible for forgiveness but have to enroll in SAVE first. Did so, and payments went from $45 to $450. Said itd take up to 8 weeks to be reviewed for forgiveness and that first $450 payment is gonna be on week 6

I should qualify for it if I understand it right. Ive had over ten years of payments and borrowed less than $12k originally.

Gimme my forgiveness Brandon

im in the same boat. My payments go from 90 to 450 under Bidens plan, but after July 1st gets halved to 225 and paid off in 2 years.

key word is possibly however. You could not be eligible at all. Also keep in mind the SAVE plan could be scrapped day 1 of a Trump administration.

At the very least they need to make the federal loans be zero interest. There's no reason at all for the Feds to make money on these
