Slightly. I don't have live TV right now, so I won't be watching. But I do think Caitlin is really good. And I am biased against religion. So.... I'd prefer if Caitlin wins

She said if you dont believe in God, something's wrong with you. Win or lose will be interesting to see how South Carolina coach rationalize the outcome.

In that interview she said God is with you even more in the bad times.

I love that Clark and others have given women's basketball a new life. The LSU game was the most watched non NFL sporting event of the last year, outside of the Michigan Ohio state game.

This woman is a spectacle and while I don't want to pin all the new excitement for the sport on her, as others have helped, she's done wonders for sports over the last two seasons. She outs asses in seats and hopefully revives a very stagnant and borderline dead WNBA.

I don't even watch men's basket ball but when the TV is on at work I've been seeing a lot of her and even found myself watching and rooting for Iowa last night against uconn.

Think I might enjoy women's more. Never cared for dunking cause it's ok you can jump high good for you. Could be wrong but it seems easier than some shots that get made.

Does SC have a standout player? I'm real tired of the "CC vs Reece/Buekers" narratives we've seen as if CC has any actual competition.

It might be promoted like the OP Caitlin Clark vs the 38-0 team. Or team that has been 107-3 last few years.

I can't really think of any other sport where a team entered undefeated into final and discussion is toward the player on opposing team. The closest is maybe Jordan vs the 86 Celtics but those Celtics weren't undefeated entire season.

I mean prior to Clark showing up Iowa's best finish in the last 30 years was getting BTFO'd by Baylor in the Elite Eight in 18-19. Their best finish ever was losing in the Elite Eight by 2 points in the 80s.

(Baylor won the tournament).

She's 100% elevated the program well beyond its historic performance, and people know that Iowa isn't some super team like South Carolina or LSU are. Losing two straight finals won't harm her at all.

Clark has boosted viewership numbers of women's NCAA basketball to an absurd degree. He probably thinks he can easily get that $5 million investment back through the publicity Clark would give the league.

Their whole team is good but the player who was in Caitlin's class who was a higher recuit is Cardosa. But it won't really get hyped as Caitlin vs her. Cardosa is 6'7" though and an absolute force inside who will completely wreck Iowa. Iowa always gets outrebounded badly by teams like SC or an LSU. They overcome it by offensive efficiency the best they can. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I would say Cardosa though will be the standout narrative star.

Iowa's main problem is that they give up points to practically everyone. Their 71 PA/game was legitimately ranked 320th of 360 teams this year.

Meanwhile South Carolina was like 17th or something.

There's a strong possibility they may get absolutely boat raced.
