This is based on multiplayer games. Its something Ive been thinking about for a long time and I figured I would finally make a topic about it. The powers that talk the most shit, talk shit unprovoked, drop slurs in chat, etc. are PlayStation players. Clearly every fan base base these type of people but PlayStation seems to be the worst by a landslide.

In crossplay games, I often check to see what platform someone is on when they say some toxic shit and it feels like its 80% PlayStation players. Maybe its because all the CoD players migrated over to PlayStation back when the exclusivity changed after the 360 era. Since CoD sucks now, those players probably switched games so they are everywhere in other multiplayer games.

Thatcus my experience anyway. Anyone else have the same experience?

I havent checked but I wouldnt be surprised. Actually it seems to be the case even with the console war stuff. All console war shit is stupid but PlayStation players seem to be the worst of the bunch

It's literally just because it's the most popular console in your region. More people = more assholes

Yes, because more people are playing on that system. It's not rocket science, you're not figuring out some grand thing here. A decade ago the 360 was known as the toxic dudebro system because it was the more popular system leading to more assholes going online on that system. Now the PS4 is that system.
Again the more people playing a certain system will always mean a greater quantity of awful people will be playing that system

Its percentage based not raw numbers. Based on that, PlayStation has more awful people based on a percentage. This is why I brought up how things were before crossplay. That is my point

the game sold over 10 million by now. I think PS players had no issue with them. Maybe look elsewhere for the people who complain about those characters...

Absolutely false, simply because LoL is PC exclusive and they're the most toxic players by far.

PC players more likely to cheat, PS5 players tend to be salty when they lose likely to inbox after an L about how you're trash etc

Xbox players seem most likely to rage quit. But rage quit is high on PS5 as well.

Yeah I just had to stop here without reading anything more than that since the communities for games like league of legends is known for being a absolute dumpster fire. Maybe I could see the 360 community being the worst back when party chat's use wasn't as wide-spread yet (1 on 1 private chat was on the 360 from the very beginning, but I remember party chat first being a thing like a week after gears of war 2 first came out in november 2008) and a gears of war game, halo 2, or call of duty's lobbies were the wild west, but once people really started using party chat more and console lobbies on the xbox mainly (way more people used to chat on the xbox since mics used to come with the consoles by default. The playstation side was always more quiet) stopped using public chat channels as much there is no way the PC community should not be denied as being asshats with games like league.

Overwatch is a game that has a toxic community, but this is the kind of game where no matter where people is playing at with competitive the vast majority are going to be little shits.

The internet is full of toxic people and its not heavily relied by console. No matter where you go there's a terrible community. Look at CE. We all suck.

Everyone is fucking trash on Playstation or Steam.

Used to be Xbox, now Playstation, sometimes Nintendo fans are just as bad. It really is a crap shoot and it changes with the times which platform has the worst fanboys.

I do find that due to the current insecurity Xbox fanboys are the quickest to start using those idiotic fanboy insults, you know the Xbot, Nintendrone and Pony terms?

I just stick to single player games to avoid verbal abuse.

It must be dependent on the game because I play Elder Scrolls Online on both PS5 and Series X and I haven't noticed any difference on how players act between the 2

I mean... I've always felt the Playstation brand had the worst defenders, just unrealistic and immature in all the ways they accuse others of being.

Always has been, no matter what platform you play a game on which makes this topic pretty dumb for putting playstation players on blast.

Like if this is based on multiplayer games like the opening post says then the vast majority of stuff you never hear a peep out of anyone. Played a decent amount of last of us 1 remastered factions MP and a small bit of uncharted 4 MP and got nothin'. I got straight up over 2,000 hours in monster hunter world+iceborne on the PS4 and I can count on one hand the amount of times I even heard anyone using voice chat (never for anything negative, just random noises or conversation), and out of those hours I seriously can think of like, 1 time I could have possibly been booted from a group. (During the kulve taroth hunts in the base game where people in the lobby had to work together to make progress for the kulve stuff. I'm thinking I got kicked from a group for being a lance player since lancers on rare occasion got shit-talked for kulve taroth parties on reddit. Its a maybe since I never even got no kind of mail, just a removed from group lol). Majority of my text chat monster hunter interactions was always positive....dude thanking everyone for helping beat his alatreon special investigation, etc. Usually just got a "wattup" from people when I joined in on random boderlands 3 rooms back when that first came out.

Like I said before overwatch's community got pretty shit as the game aged, but this has nothing to do with the platform.....there is enough youtube clips out there with anyone from the PC, playstation or xbox versions acting like jack-asses about competitive stupidity. Maybe not switch players since there ain't going to be enough on there playing switch overwatch competitive to even give a shit, lol.

The vast majority of people who have issues with Biden aren't planning to vote Trump or even not vote. However any time a thread shows up that's critical of him you often have people IMMEDIATELY bring up Trump and act like whoever is critical of Biden is a MAGA idiot.

When I WAS playing CoD lately I don't think i've heard anyone talking. I feel like they changed the way voice chat worked but I remember back in the day when all you heard was people bashing each other and screaming racism. Glad to see that hasn't changed /sarcasm

You used to have the mute the lobby. Now there is a setting where you can just turn off chat entirely. I haven't heard another person's voice in that game for two years
