No, I prefer grocery shopping in person. I don't trust other people on fresh produce. Besides I not only love cooking as I make every single meal fresh from my kitchen and never order out or eat out but I also enjoy the experience of the grocery store. I really do.

I like thinking about what I'm going to make and enjoying the process. I would only ever order if I was physically unable to go.

I use a local service to bring me my walmart pick-up order. They don't do any of the shopping, they just go to the pick-up for me and bring it here. My mom uses instacart to get hers from Kroger.

Kinda have to unless I want to walk to my nearest grocery store to pick up a few things at a time. I don't have a car, and I prefer to minimize shopping trips. I've gotten it down to about every 10-12 weeks.

The only time I had something delivered was when I bought a 24 pack of jolly time blast o' butter popcorn, and the only reason I did this because bigger boxes for this brand isn't a thing where I'm at. This was back around the beginning of january...still have 18 packs left.

There is a Walmart, IGA and food lion all pretty close so I havent had to actually use delivery for other things yet.

Most places it's free if you spend a certain amount and it's pretty low for grocery shopping, most places being $30-$50.

Im in Vietnam. Its very affordable, though it varies depending on what you eat. If you eat local food, you can get a decent meal for a dollar or two (including delivery). If you want western food, you tend to pay a bit more and there are obviously very expensive options out there.

Tips arent really expected here. In some places, they feel insulted if you try to tip them.

I signed up for Walmart+ this year.

No markup from in store & only extra I pay is the tip which I have no problem paying a ~8-10 dollar tip if it means avoiding the grocery store.

Less impulse purchasing that way.

What about hotel workers? When I left I tipped the girl at the desk and the guy who put my bags in the taxi. The girl seemed grateful but the guy just snatched the money and had a sour look on his face.

Yes, multiple times already. I use Amazon Fresh because they do a good job of showing what's actually in stock, so I get what I ask for. Not like Instacart where I order groceries and 90% of what I pick gets replaced with something completely different... Why yes, instacart shopper, I'd love to have the vanilla cokes replaced with store brand cherry cola. Because that's totally the same

At least once or twice a month from Amazon Fresh. Sometimes it's just not convenient, practical, or logistical to go out to shop, ok? Deliver me my ice cream.

I don't know if it's there's a regional difference, but for me I have to spend $150 for free delivery. And I usually pay the extra fee for it to be delivered in an hour window instead of a two hour one. Deliver me my ice cream before it melts, ok? Especially in the summer.

If you had sent a note like "for a party" I could see thinking that replacing sodas like that might be reasonable, lol

But if the presumption is strictly for the consumer, then that's absurd lol.

I've heard a few stories of where Instacart shoppers are just lazy/in a rush and will (try to) sub items because it's further to go to the item you want than the first similar item they found.

My advice is to avoid produce at all costs. Some delivery people either seem to know jack fucking shit about what is not spoiled or they don't care to bother and although you can be refunded for their errors, the driving point was you wanted fruits and veggies delivered on demand to your place so you don't have to yourself.

Also I have long covid and can't do a great deal of walking, so if I want some sweets or chocolate in the evening I use the robots.
