Don't care. Love KoeiTecmo games, love these types of games, love the setting / background.

Day 1 purchase.

team ninja is the the only dev i bother with that's on koei.

should be fun, but definitely not for everyone.

Not bad. Gonna give it try eventually when it's on sale.

Hm, seems like I will just wait. I was mildly curious cause the combat seemed fun, but they STILL haven't fucking learned about the over abundance of loot from Nioh and applied a butt ton of generic open world stuff.

I reinstalled Ghost of Tsushima instead so I can get the "generic open world samurai" game at the moment. Still, I'm playing the Ninja Gaiden trilogy and I am curious to play another TN specific sword fighting game (did the demo for Wo Long, yikes. And Nioh 1 is awful).

When are they going to stop turning EVERYTHING into open world? They following a trend thats slowly dying.

Oh there's plenty for me. Outlast Trials just came out and I'm loving it and recently picked up Remnant 2, which does not have the issue of abundance of loot. Games doing generic open world stuff for the past 15 years is the real problem. And from reviews, seems I'm not the only one that thinks so.

Dragon's Dogma 2 interests me greatly and that game doesn't hold your hand.

I wouldn't have a lot of faith in a new NG game being good. And the 3rd was pretty mid, so meh.

Games like Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom, and maybe Dragon's Dogma 2 (based on what I have seen) gives me hope that open world games can still be innovative. The rest? Yeah, tired of it.

Hey I really like NG1 - 3 (yes even 3, despite it clearly being the worst of them). I hear Nioh 2 is a big improvement over 1 but that's the furthest I made it. I also heard Wo Long is just generally not well received overall so perhaps TN needs to step it UP.

Wo Long was fun but had various levels of jank and honestly felt like a PS3 gen level game

Looked like a 7/10. But like a 7/10 that certain people would think is a 10/10. Which is fine. Not the game for me tbh, I think I'd be more interested if it was more grounded and less fantastical, which is just not the game they were making.

Gonna cop Dragon's Dogma instead.

NG 1-3 is just a different era of TN I think

Nioh 2 is a lot better than 1 but it you didn't like 1 it's not gonna change your mind, unless you didn't like it because of difficulty. 2 has ways to make it much easier

I mostly didn't like the level design and the enemies, felt like everything was just blah. Is 2 an improvement in that regard? I think I also tried thsoe chain knife things which I hear are difficult. I still own 1, maybe I can give it another shot.

Going by innovation alone, Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom are more innovative than the vast majority of linear games.

Liking linear games more is of course a legit opinion, but then innovation doesn't seem to have much to do with that opinion

This game is so tough! I have been stuck in the prologue for 2 hours.

I remember when open world games were dying for the umpteenth time when sites like IGN were shitting on the great Mad Max game almost a decade ago.

Man it took me 2 hours just to make one of the siblings. I initially planned to have a brother sister pair, but after taking that long to make the one I just changed my mind, swapped to the second sibling, downloaded my saved template and just made them twins now, lol.

Didn't this game take like 12 years to make? Would explain. Why it already looks kinda last gen.

Wo Long is a massive step backwards from Nioh 1 and 2, and the theory was that TN used their b team to make WL so they could free up the a team for Rise of the Ronin....

Nioh 1 is great but it can be annoying a lot of the time. Nioh 2 is better, runs great, looks great, not as many annoying sections. But if you hated Nioh 1 I'm not sure how you'd like 2. In Nioh 2 you can just use fists and destroy everything by spamming the same few attacks in medium stance, Nioh 1 required you to be a lot more thoughtful about attacks and stances.

new team ninja games always have a weapon that i find interesting to play.

Funny looking at this topic now that both games are out and seeing everyone like "Nah I'm gonna play DD2" and that game's a trash fire atm

Currently replaying Ghost of Tsushima, so my appetite for that theme of game is pretty sated at the moment.

Seems like a great game to wait for it to be given out with PS+ in a year or two.

I wasn't paying attention earlier and didn't realise Rise of the Ronin wouldn't be on PC. Whoops. Ah well, there's always other things.

Nioh is no Glover, but damn did I bloody enjoy the Nioh series so much.

Apparently Nioh 2 is the last Nioh game they wanted to do, and they wanted to go off and make Wo Long and ROR instead.

Been watching Cr1tikal play and enjoy the game.

Really tempted to get it, but my copy of Dragon's Dogma 2 finally comes tomorrow...
