I've got to stand my ground on this one. John Walker gets unfairly criticized. Right from the start, when he and Lamar reaches out for help, Bucky brushes him off just because he didn't stroke his ego the right way. Walker keeps trying to do the right thing, only to get pushed around time and time again. Then, Lamar gets kidnapped and murdered. When Walker takes action against one of the killers, it's seen as excessive, but let's be real, it wasn't overboard.

Let's not forget, Bucky releases a mass murderer and assassin, the same guy who took out T'Challa's father and caused chaos by blowing up innocent people, just so he could continue his killing spree. He even incited a riot in a prison. And Sam? Well, he starts off the movie by taking out bad guys too. But somehow, Walker is the one in the wrong. And let's be honest, Sam was way too lenient with those literal terrorists. "Oh, let's think about helping them." Come on, Sam, do something about it.

The first fantastic four movie and the Green Lantern movie aren't nearly as bad as their reputation. They're not amazing, but I think most of the criticisms come from the fact that they're family-friendly comedy movies and not serious business action movies.

Eternals was good. The characters were fun and the lore was interesting. Marvel should have gone forward with the story. At least bring the giant celestial in the ground, or in space, up again

People are going to hate me for this. and I know that this is taking your POST to extremes it wasn't meant to be. But I like the movie better than the show. Light just got random good stuff happen for him all the time to keep going.

I also thought that the way Sam and Bucky tag teamed Walker to take the shield back right after Lemar Hoskins died was a really scummy move on their part. Came off as bullies. Also agree with Sam being too lenient with the terrorists.

There's not as big of a gap in quality between average Marvel and DC movies as people pretend there is.

Your average comic book movie is mostly crap because it focuses too much on a franchise, and never enough on actually telling a story. They feel like they're movies that they have to do instead of a movie that someone actually wants to do.

  • Infinity War was decent, but there are a number of MCU movies that I felt were better.
  • Days of Future Past > any major event comic book movie (Infinity War, Endgame, JL, etc.)
  • Black Panther 2 > Black Panther (I really liked both, though)
  • the first Aquaman was ass cheeks (haven't seen the second)
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home was pretty meh
  • none of the live-action Japanese Death Note movies were good
  • the manhwa adaptations of zombie series tend to be pretty weak

Iron Man 1 was one of the weakest pre-Endgame MCU movies. I even watched it again after learning the Internet worships it just to see if somehow I missed something. But nope, it just wasn't very good.

It was ok and all, on the whole, I just really don't see anything special about it, and the climax really bothered me. You know, the part where the bad guy, who was just Iron Man but with a better suit, suffers a glancing blow from the reactor and dies, while actual Iron Man, who remember is just the bad guy but with a lesser suit, and also doesn't have a helmet, gets hit so directly that he is thrown away from the blast, and is just like ouch.

Barbara Gordon was a hundred times more interesting and relevant as Oracle than she has ever been as Batgirl.

For me it is more Sam and Bucky's reaction. Steve took on the whole world for Buck. Broke up the team, got 5 other mind washed people killed, beat up like 100 police, and knocked out people on the raft. Because of his dedication to Bucky. Do these guys think for one second that Cam would not have ended someone who killed one of them.

I feel part of that goes back to what Dr. Erskine said in Cap 1: the Super-Soldier Serum enhances what's already there, makes someone more themselves. Steve was, underneath it all, a good guy, and everything he did as Cap he basically learned on the job.

Walker was a modern special ops soldier: a highly trained, professional killer. You even see that progression: he starts out relatively humble, saying he knows he can't measure up to Steve but still wants to honor his legacy. Then as he doesn't get the respect he thinks he deserves, he starts to get a chip on his shoulder. Then in desperation he takes the Serum, but the difference in his and Steve's personality is only multiplied, to the point where he nearly becomes a rabid dog before realizing how far he's gone and pulling back.
