There's a bunch with the majority being bought for Skybuilder Scrips at the Firmament. Sellable on the Market Board but I don't know how much they go for.

Oh, if you are on free trial you cannot access the market board. Afaik the only one sold by NPC vendor which you can purchase is 100,000gil which may or may not be too much for you, its sold in Kugane.

house
damn that house thing sounds stressful lol.

yeah that makes sense. I'll make sure to at least try to avoid overwhelming myself. im currently a boxer/thauma guy but i also am a chef or something? how do i level chef up, or all the non combat classes even? do i just go and whack guys with my pan lol

attacks.

YEAH I found that out earlier because I thought something was wrong with my character since the kind of "super" move for pugilists was really underpowered and needed to be charged up first. i totally didn't know you could just use it in between other moves as they cooldown.

yeah i feel you. i don't usually play games like this, but given that it's free and i dont have a ton of other games i can just play casually, i figure ill give it some time.

hard

aww that is a bit disappointing knowing there's an actual "right" way to play tbh. ive actually not played with anyone so far so i wonder if i'll experience anything like that. sorry to hear you went through that, it definitely seems a bit stressful to have guys rely on you like that.

Do the thing the job is meant to. For Land, gather things. For Hand, craft things. You should be able to buy basic crafting materials for any craft under Lv15 at the guild vendor.

In general, if you don't have Market Board access or just don't want to rely on others, you want/need to level all of them for long term use. But that's if you decide you want to get in on it, which you don't have to. Locations...

Disciples of the Land
Botanist: Gridania
Miner: Ul'dah
Fisher: Limsa

Disciples of the Hand
Carpenter, Leatherworker: Gridania
Goldsmith, Weaver, Alchemist: Ul'dah
Blacksmith, Armorer, Culinarian: Limsa

You'll get one in the Lv30 job quest for any ARR combat job. Don't forget to put it on or you lose a bunch of actions and a little bit of stats.

Oh yeah, do your job quests as they pop up. It's every 5 levels up to level 50 then every 2 levels through to 70.

Many of them give you new skills with a lot of those skills being near mandatory to perform optimally in dungeons and trials. Also the EXP from them is solid.

In my experience it's rare outside of hard content. For healing specifically, there's also nothing wrong with just asking the tank to chill out with the pulls. Anyone worth their salt knows that it's really the healer that sets the pace of the dungeons.

The base game's jobs all evolve into better jobs at level 30. For example, Archer turns into Bard, Gladiators become Paladins and Conjurers become White Mages. You unlock it through doing the class quests that are available every 5 levels and get an item called a job crystal that gives you the advanced job. There's literally no reason not to use the advanced job as you get a bunch of new abilities.

The jobs added in the expansions don't have this problem and YoshiP regrets that this system exists because it adds complexity for no gain, however it's apparently a technical challenge to remove it.
