• Trump's deadline to pay the state of New York ~$460 million is March 25th. NY AG Letitia James is prepared to move forward with seizing Trump's assets if he does not pay.
• Trump's first criminal trial is March 25th. Two weeks away.
• Peter Navarro expected to report to prison on March 19th.
• Trump is still defaming E. Jean Carroll. Carroll's lawyers are monitoring the situation.

Realistically she already has had grounds for a third suit against Trump. The recent trial was actually the first defamation suit that she filed. It just for various reasons wound up taking place after her second suit was tried. While the stuff that took place after the first trial was used as evidence to show that Trump wasn't going to stop, the recent trial had nothing to do with it. Trump has not been held accountable for any of it.

If after the second trial Trump kept his mouth shut she probably would have assumed Trump got the message and let him slide. However if she does file a third suit, she will probably include all of that as well.

If she really wants to provoke him into defaming her again, she just needs to use some of his money to make donations to the Biden reelection campaign, Obama's presidential library, the Clinton Foundation, etc. Make a big show of it and thank Trump by name for making the such contributions possible and I guarantee you he'll expose himself to more litigation.

This is the easiest case with the strongest amount of evidence against him, but it's also the hardest to try because we've got a corrupt judge sandbagging the hell out of it. He's using so much more of his personal resources to fight against it. It should have been over with and seen to already. Instead, it's delay delay delay.

More than likely they believe that they will survive Trump's appeal. The language has been modified to their satisfaction. It's unlikely that the opposition to the bond would have done anything other than offer more delays.

It is exceptionally likely that the verdict and judgment stand. See my post at #133. Tl;dr, standards of review are very much in an appellee's favor when it comes to sustaining a jury verdict and award.

That said, the courts aren't interested in the political shenanigans that may or may not be going on with Chubb's involvement as surety for Trump's stay of execution. It is simply a matter of whether or not the surety is reliable. If Trump doesn't pay, Chubb certainly will. And I don't think they would be keen to write off the loss (which makes me wonder what exactly was put up as collateral, but, again, more politicking there).

As to Alucard's posts at #228 and 229,

1. I don't see the NY appellate court granting a stay without the undertaking. I would imagine the NY judicial system is familiar enough with real estate people to not buy into stupid bullshit.

2. Yeah, Cannon is blatant at this point. I tend to give judges a higher-than-normal amount of respect and deference, but she's beyond that at this juncture. No rational person would look at these circumstances and think she's being impartial.

It reminds me of the Ed Edd n Eddy episode where they keep trying the same scam over and over and failing and by the end the other kids just don't care yet the Eds still do it.

In the D.C. and Georgia cases he has an argument, a bad one, but still an argument. The Mar-a-Lago case is frivolous as he was out of office when the crimes occured and it has only gotten as far as it has because you have a judge that is both biased and incompetent. The attempt to use it in New York though is beyond pathetic.

As much as I want to see Trump figuratively hang for his efforts, I hate MSNBC's coverage of it. At least they mask it by showing actual news, but it's still a lot of political bias and a fair amount of copium. Maybe I'm just a cynic now.
