Never quite understood why a bunch of people paid money to the Yuzu developers on Patreon when Ryujinx exists and sometimes ran games better.

Edit: apparently Ryujinx has a Patreon too? I couldve swore it did not lol.

Emulators are supposed to keep a low profile and not inform its users how and where to get ROMs. Yuzo did the exact opposite. It was also paywalled.

Just the dumbest way to go about having emulation on their part.

There's not an alternative 3DS emulator as far as I know, and 3DSes are no longer sold nor is it possible to buy games for it.

Sounds like it was part of the settlement that they wouldn't infringe on their copyright anymore and might just be playing it safe.

Nintendo doesn't care. They want you to wait like 15 years when they finally decide to do a remake of an old 3ds game and buy it from them

They fucked themselves for taking money on patreon.

Its a good thing im not a nintendo fan. The last game i enjoyed was Smash Bros Melee and i still have my gamecube and Smash bros mini disc.

Depends. Many open source devs are based in countries that would laugh in Nintendo's face if they try a lawsuit.

Glad Citra will still be around in some form or another. Being open source code, it can easily be forked.

There is no way to stop emulation. Not only is it tough to break legally, but since it's open source if you tear down 1 head 2 more heads pop up. I guarantee you this won't stop a Switch 2 emulator if the hardware is shit and weak sauce

The funny thing is the Switch 2 will probably be so similar from an architectural / chip standpoint that the Yuzu code will probably mostly just work for it.

Nintendo hasn't hit older emulators like the dolphin for instance. Yuzu is open source, so it's only a matter of time someone rereleases it on the web.

You're not going to find me disagreeing with you. Even two of my friends, who are lawyers, also say there's enough "technicality's" for Yuzu to win the lawsuit...but of course like you said Nintendo would've just dragged it out until they ran out of money. At least I still got Yuzu on my steam deck while my switch continues to catch dust.
