Johnny Bravo the character would probably be in better contention than the show (and I love the show!). Samurai Jack was popular but didn't hit main stream to the same degree. I feel very good about my four and Dexter being in over one is probably the only thing I would listen to cases about.

I can actually agree with this.

Like, how many episodes of the show can you really remember, compared to episodes of Dexter, PPG, and EEnE? But the character himself is super iconic.

I feel that Teen Titans Go has too much negativity for being on said mountain, because it was part of the era that demolished the value of uniqueness by showing potentially 8+ hours of the same shows on the same day, week after week. It was quite nauseating from my perspective.

Just by googling it has the dubious accolade of being the first CN show that was shown 300 times in a week.

Picks like Johnny Bravo feel completely redundant to me.

This is why I left off Dexter's Lab for the record. (Johnny Bravo is more redundant but yeah)

Like yeah it's a big deal but imo it's eclipsed by PPG in every way and is the same kind of show. I guess it came out first but it's all the same era to me. Though I at least respect the Dexter's Lab inclusion-- the ed ed n eddy picks are the head scratchers for me.

Its top tier, has a fun history, on par with the other front runners at the time, and Ed literally won the presidential election for Cartoon Network

  • Adventure Time
  • Ed, Edd, n Eddy
  • Ben 10
  • Samurai Jack
I don't think an explanation is needed for Adventure Time, even if I don't personally like the show. I wanted to get an entry that wasn't action focused, so going with one of the early longrunners that people have given other good reasons for. Ben 10 was a major franchise for CN. Finally, Samurai Jack, as far as I could tell, is Cartoon Network's first Emmy winner.

HM: Mystery Incorporated.

According to Wikipedia, EEnE is CN's longest-running standalone original series, so that's gotta be worth something.

Tbf this either seems to be counting the release of the two unreleased DVD episodes and/or the TV movie and not counting any of Adventure Times specials which is very dodgy or arguing that the short disqualifies Adventure Time. But it was the longest running for a decade, its original run lasted eight years.

I feel like the problem with Steven Universe is that it has way too much overlap with Adventure Time if its just four shows.

i agree with this but that's also why i have it. for a singular character he punches up way more in memorability and the cartoon is named after him. he just sticks with you and reminds you to do more squats.

anyway, 4th:

Ben10

it's outside my era but it was big. quick wiki check shows multiple seasons that dwarf everything, movies, games, 3 emmy's, $6 billion dollar series. has it all from longevity, impact, finances. the only thing it's technically missing is more crossover appeal but hey, at this point i was too deep in anime to go back to that art style. maybe i should watch, who knows.

Didn't realise how popular Ben 10 is until last year or so, and I personally respect it more than, oh say, TTG. Ew TTG.

Powerpuff Girls was chosen above most other classic CN toons for being my favourite from the classic era. I used to ask my parents for Bubbles merch CONSTANTLY.

I wish I could justify Regular Show for mine, as I love Regular Show a whole lot.

Dunno who else remembers this but in 2000 and 2001, CN allowed viewers to vote from groups of like 8-10 pilots and the winner would be picked up as a full series. The winner in 2000 was Billy & Mandy, and in 2001 it was Kids Next Door, both of which went on to be much more popular and successful than most of the series the Network picked up on its own. The kids knew what they wanted.

Incidentally, a second pilot from 2000, Robot Jones, was eventually picked up years later, but didn't last very long.

Oh, and in 2002 they also put out a batch of new pilots, but rather than hold a formal vote, they perused things like reviews and web forums to see which one(s) were most popular, and from there, Megas XLR was born.

Powerpuff Girls
Teen Titans Go
Adventure Time
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast

Powerpuff Girls is one of the biggest shows of its era, had a theatrical film, and keeps getting remade. Easy choice.

Modern Cartoon Network is basically just a Teen Titans Go channel and it was also big enough for a theatrical film, so... I think it has to be on.

Adventure Time... I feel was influential enough to sneak in, though I'm not as sold on it.

Space Ghost basically created Adult Swim, which is notable enough.

HMs: "What A Cartoon!" for creating so many of the Cartoon Cartoons, but it's lack of an identity of its own makes it hard to vote for; "Steven Universe" for being my favorite CN show, but I can't honestly say it had enough impact that I want to vote it.
