I thought ILCA did a decent enough job with BDSP and I didn't mind the chibi graphics, the only thing that bothered me is the "faithful remake".
If it's going to be another "faithful remake" then please don't bother. Just don't. BW aged good enough and I can play them whenever.

So please don't fuck that up

I'm hyped for this presentation.

Since Scarlet/Violet came out in 2022, it's probably too early for a Gen 10 announcement, which I expect will happen on Pokemon Day in 2025.

I'm also concerned about a BW remake and I feel like they're gonna have that in the works. Not sure how they're going to do it since BW2 is a very different game and the originals are a lot less marketable to casual fans, with way less recognisable Pokemon. Most likely gonna be low-budget ugly trash made in Unity, again.

So, they can announce these about a week in advance, yet regular/partner Directs only get up to 2 days notice?

The other way around would be nice because at this point we know exactly when the Pokemon one is coming.

probably nothing major since switch 2 is relatively soonish. although i guess b/w remakes could be a launch title maybe

cant wait for their palworld clone is a year or two!

Theres a Pokmon Direct every year on February 27, announcing it is merely a formality. We knew this was coming 365 days ago

They have literally always releases mainline games on consoles after their successor was released. See: USUM, B2W2, Emerald (and Crystal and Yellow except in Japan).

And they don't usually have a good track record with new hardware

Setting my hopes and expectations to rock bottom after S/V. I wish I could say otherwise, but yeah I just dont have any faith left in GameFreak anymore

I'm very interested in seeing if the current Khu leaks pan out, but the S/V DLC really tore his credibility to shreds, so I'm also fine if the Presents exposes him as not knowing anything anymore and he disappears.

There was nothing wrong with SV besides performance

Nothing is definitely a stretch but yeah, beyond that they were good games imo.

It performed way too terribly is the issue. I had other problems with it even aside from performance. Theres no reason to believe their next one wont be equally bad since they clearly can just fly them out the door as soon as possible since 20M+ people will buy them even if theyre launched in an unplayable state. They have no reason to try since they will sell amazingly regardless

definitely the most fun playing Pokemon in ages, first generation to really make me feel that since BW/2

S/V are a good template. If GF can build off it while fixing their performance issues (and not taking two steps backwards in other departments), the next games could be truly amazing.

Oh don't take me wrong the performance is indeed unbearable.

As someone who enjoys organising stuff, I suffered so much from the fact it took sprites 10 seconds to load in a box.

It took them more than a year to fix this. This should be considered one of the most embarassing bugs in the history of AAA video games.
Such a simple thing to fix :|

- Turn off battle animations
- Pokedex search options
- Remembering moves from pre-evos
- EXP Share toggle

Sure I'm forgetting some stuff. And new features could use some qol features too.

the biggest thing that S/V trashed for me was the customizable outfits

which is so weird because they made customizable faces the best yet like wtf

Imagine having a storyline focused around characters that modded their school uniform and not actually being able to mod your school uniform

We're talking about Game Freak here. They're going to ditch everything people liked about SV while keeping the parts people hated.

so i guess back on this one now, definitely has to be said that any nso stuff is looking way less likely after they did the big rare (and mother 3 jp) news

still praying for no more let's go. honestly right now about the only thing i think i'd be getting day 1 is either another legends or a pmd2 remake (and it'd be awful timing for the latter to be announced given it's the same day as shiren 6's global launch)

SV was very good. Best game in the series since B/W

so i guess i had a look and realised that the video is apparently projected to be not even 13 mins (it only says 12:52 and that's very potentially including the youtube countdown) so yeah tempering expectations a lot here given how much of that they have to be sparing for mobile, tcg, competitive etc. might really be a quiet year for once which would really be the best outcome lol

Who says anything about skipping Unova. Legends wasn't the gen 4 remake.
