He's got a point though, for as long as he has money, no amount of fines is going to make a difference.

Now WHEN he actually loses his entire NY empire and has no money left to pay fines, those will actually be consequences.

May have lost the fraud trial but nothing substantial has come of it yet.

Even if, big if, he loses he won't face any actual consequences he deserves. House arrest at most. He'll get to live in his cushy compound being waited on hand and foot. Any fines he will just get the chuds to pay. I hope I'm wrong about all of this, but I don't have much faith in our justice system. Look at how they treated the insurrectionists with kid gloves and they weren't even rich promint Republicans like Trump.

I agree that it's unlikely but I thought it was unlikely in 2016 too. I just don't have faith that people won't let me down. Plus, all the bullshit the GOP has done means regardless of the outcome some counties or states won't even certify their election results without significant blowback.

I don't see it happening. Trump moves record breaking amounts of dems and independents to vote against him. There is a proven fact that the Trump brand loses elections and this has been a constant pattern since after 2016. There is also an incredibly high chance that he is convicted and is a confirmed criminal by the time of elections.

Polls being down on Biden is a good thing as it removes the disease of complacency.

This, if his name is on the ballot most people are going to vote against him, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't vote, we have to keep voting to make sure.

The people who are most vocally mad at Biden for whats been going on in Gaza already hated him to begin with. These people want the entire system to burn to the ground and because of that they support Trump more than Biden, as Biden is stability where Trump is a 77 year old destructive child who could accidentally make everything collapse.

For one, Biden has ALREADY beat Trump, and that was before Jan 6.

Trump & repubs have lost election after election since then because of mainly abortion. Dems need to make that an issue on all the ballots they can. Polling has largely been unreliable because the younger generation doesnt answer them

Trump has a shot but the cards are not in his favor, this also doesnt take into account what losing his cases will do to him

For the moment, I want to believe that polling is still well and truly fucked with Gen Z being unpollable.

Honestly, 2016 was a probably a fluke in every way imaginable. Clinton was the most unlikable, two-faced candidate the Dems could muster up, and at the time, nobody really expected Trump's presidency to go this badly. I mean, I definitely didn't have a literal insurrection, a poorly-handled pandemic and multiple criminal trials on my bingo list.

Trump and the GOP have only taken the mask off since then so it's not like they're gaining new supporters either. And in fact, many establishment Republicans are already sick of Trump's antics.

Democrats have been dominating special elections, and other elections since 2021(Since Biden has taken office). This historically bodes well for Democrats, and it's actual election data. Not media polls.

So what does this mean? It's most likely going to be a bloodbath with the Democrats on top.

Other than Biden, they really don't have any big-name candidates to run. Maybe Pelosi but I doubt enough voters would unite behind her. Schiff, no.

I think there's kinda a never again thing going on with a lot of people against Trump or just republicans in general. I think 2016 was kinda a wake up call. People are showing out and I definitely know former republicans jumping to Democrat or to RFKjr.

Like I don't see him winning but a lot can happen in the next year.

Is this actually true? Supporting Israel is the popular position in the United States.

Biden is more popular than trump. These lawsuits aren't doing trump many favors outside of his own base going harder for him, which doesn't matter.

The real kicker is just how RFK jr impacts things. His polling is historic for a 3rd party candidate, so we'll see what he does. I feel like that would siphon more votes out of the republican side(akin to Ross Perot 30 years ago) but I do not know much about the guy.

Important reminder that Trump was found guilty of rape in a court of law.

It does seem like the 1% is trying to make sure that Trump does win.

There's a really good chance and that there are people who don't believe so is worrying. They haven't learned a thing and aren't paying attention.

Republicans are going to go in hard on three main talking points
1) Cost of living
2) Immigration
3) General distrust and apathy for current elected officials

Look at Europe. Horrendous candidates are rising in popularity because people are whipped into a frenzied panic over costs, immigrants, and representatives who they feel aren't doing anything to help them.

It's the same worry I have about Ramaswamy. He's a joke now but so was Trump. Like it or not he's resonating with more and more people and we're going to get back to the point where we're desperately convincing ourselves that the polls show he doesn't have a chance.

Democrats so desperately want the political landscape to go back to what it was but they need to update their playbook, preferably with something more than talk of LGBT support. About the only things they have that is truly bipartisan are abortion and marijuana but that can only carry the party so far for so long. With election shenanigans by the right getting more blatant it's debatable how much gain that will even net them.

Edit: And how could I forget the inevitable talk about the "Biden crime family." While I don't believe that will do much in moving the needle compared to the other three talking points it's sufficient enough to keep his name in the mud.
