My first boss fight with him, the last hit took three hits because I just so happened to be hitting him during the I frames. Counting those hits and the first kinda freebie hit is 6. Throughout the whole game I was wondering why only the first boss took more hits lol. One of the last boss fights with him I finally realized that Jr. had those I frame moments. The idea for the last boss was cool, but in practice it was way too easy. Found the levels I was missing in the worlds that I thought I had done everything, and in every case it was just random Break Time levels I somehow just never did.

Just started world 2. That 4 star difficulty is no joke.
Also just renewed my online and it's quite fun. The Search Party level was even fun with them. Overall though I'm not entranced by the game like I expected. It's still super traditional. That's a good thing overall but I think I just prefer 3D Mario. But I don't think the charm is especially different from how World felt back in the day. And certainly not as charming or technically mind blowing as Yoshi's Island. Great game, but why do Mario games still have a run button? Constantly holding it down hurts my thumb after a while, and the level design is obviously built around the assumption that you're always running.

Yeah I saw some of my family's kids playing NSMB a while back, and I was surprised at how the levels were designed to be able to walk through the whole thing. Running is just too fast for them at first.

I make more mistakes when I try to run the whole way through a new level. But once I'm familiar with it and need to go through to try the flag again or something, there will be a lot more running.

For me it took me a second to remember oh right, these games have a run button. Not sure any other major platformers still do but you get used to it pretty quickly.
In World 6 now, pretty confident this is behind only World for me in the 2D Mario rankings. The way they have revamped the world map is great, the badges are great, the online is some of the best integration Nintendo has done. Had they taken NSMBU mechanics and level design, added a few new mechanics and a fresh aesthetic, that still would have been a great game. Game 100% beated. Overall good stuff but yeah it does end up being a little easy.
That being said I'm kinda glad Nintendo knows how to show restraint because based on that final level they could absolutely make this game sadistic levels of difficulty. But that's what kaizo and romhacks are for I suppose. --- skull ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think I will leave 100% beating this for a while, but the invisibility badge is an absolutely hilarious power-up I love to hate. Bravo to whoever came up with that, but also, screw you to whoever came up with that.

I succeeded my first time thanks to a multiplayer standee save but I missed the first 10-coin and had to do it again.
second time my wifi disconnected so had to solo, I was blitzing through the other stages fine but it all never mattered when I met that final task. yeah Ive definitely been doing spin jumps to keep track, the first parts would be much harder without it

I managed to beat the final section my first time getting to the second checkpoint. Guess I just played really clutch with the pressure on. Mastering the first section so I could take a power up into the second was my strat that paid off. Yeah that spring feet and fire bar section was too brutal without it. Actually the wall climb section right before it may have been tougher.
Final invisibility section would probably have been frustrating if I had to play it more times. But I just found it to be a hilarious troll instead. I'm thankful that the jet run & spin boost segments were pretty fun and easy so it wasn't tooooo frustrating to redo the last section. vine was whatever, a couple times the pull would pull me into a spike but it's not too bad
middle section as well a lot of repeats because of the spring stage, but wall-jump was probably the most fun for me. crouch jump could be frustrating with accidental ground-pounds but it's pretty simple and you don't even really need to hold anything but crouch & press jump as needed first section parachute-float-dolphin was kinda unremarkable, parachute you're really just waiting for the screen although sometimes it's very tight fitting between obstacles taking your power-up. the other two just not any issue but sad I didn't catch the 10-coin in the dolphin zone --- http://gmun.moe/ffcc GuessMyUserName's account's very own account! ... I think if you had to do Champion's Road as Mario, it might take the cake. But being able to use Rosalina or Peach makes it a lot easier. Just in pure time, pretty sure Champion's Road took me around an hour first try and this was over an hour and a half. Must have been 50+ attempts. --- Welcome to your Divinity. ...
