I like how I just posted at virtually the same time in the other topic that if it were $60 I probably wasn't ever buying it because it probably wouldn't go low enough to justify buying a remake and there we are~

Couldn't give us a break with $39.99 like with the Prime? To be fair, I think that might still be cheaper than it was on release for SNES.

This seems to have a lot more work put into it than Prime. Not surprised this one's full price.

Buy a copy and sell it used once you finish. Nintendo games have fantastic resale value.

I get most of my dollars this way, it's pretty great

BDSP was full price too and added almost nothing.

I don't think they're cutting anything. I expect that all the bosses and areas and music and stuff are going to be remade and they might add a little bit of extra content

Here I was hoping for a new Ace Attorney or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game... and then this announcement happens, which is ten times more exciting! Never in a million years did I expect this. I was expecting to take the original SMRPG to my grave.

I'm curious about the updated battle system. Apparently timed hits can affect surrounding enemies now. Timed attacks can also lead to not just 2x, but 3x damage(?). (or maybe 3x just refers to the fact that surrounding enemies get hit) Each time you get hit, a % meter increases... I wonder what that's all about? Special Attacks seem the same. It's nice that the game tells you more explicitly what you can or can't block. (but it's true that, in the original game, "stars" appearing indicates that you can block something)

Oh, yeah... it's nice to hear a live orchestra play this game's music. I hope the entire soundtrack is that way.

I'm almost certain that the % meter is some sort of special team attack that uses the three characters in your current party; (see the cutscene bit of Mario, Mallow, and Bowser in his clown car, I'm assuming that's part of theirs)

Why do they call it Super Mario RPG anyway?

The only character who owns an RPG left his bazooka at home.
