Nope, not related at all. I don't think anyone who worked on this show worked on any Danganronpa stuff, at least as far as I can tell on MAL. This is from the new BanG Dream anime airing this season, which has been going really hard on the drama and suffering compared to past series.

It's a standalone entry focused on a brand new cast (it has some very minor cameos of girls from previous seasons, but they don't play any role in the story) so you can jump in and watch it without having seen any of the previous BanG Dream anime or having playing the mobile game.

I was sceptical of JJK S2 with it being a flashback arc, but I just finished Ep 3 and I'm now a believer

This show is so slowly paced. It runs a chapter per episode.
Also they censored what the possessed guy did since he's a gang rapist in the manga.

Also they had contacts after the preview for next week. I've never actually seen that directed at a single episode of a show before.

How long ago was the original?

The first season of Kaiji (which is all HiDive has dubbed so far) originally aired from 2007-2008 and they started dubbing it late last year, so about 14 years. I think they chose to dub it after so long because they were trying to capitalize on Squid Game's popularity and they realized they had a similar anime in their library to take advantage of that. Hopefully it does well enough for them that they actually continue and dub the second season.

Solid episode of Precure today with some great background for Ageha and her character, but the animation quality was pretty janky.

One Piece 1072 was amazing to see.

It is the perfect example of using animation to tell the narrative and express visually what was happening moment to moment.

Manga like Rent a Girlfriend is why Japan has such a low birth rate. It's literally almost 300 chapters now of the protagonist simping for a glorified escort that he isn't even allowed to kiss.
Hell, the second he fell on top of her, he almost had a heart attack and passed out.

Finally finished part 1 of Vanitas no Karte which I started back in... march lol. I've really slowed down with anime. The last nonseasonal anime I've finished was Trigun Stampede in early April. Vanitas was fun. not sure if I'll jump right into part 2 or watch something else in the meantime.

Finished Vinland season 2 a bit ago, liked it a lot. Watched the first couple episodes of Zom 100 (it's alright) and the first episode of Classroom of the Elite.

I will post some. I only read it for a little bit last night, just got some background info on the girl and the teacher.

I reached the end of the first arc of Kaiji (the Restricted Rock Paper Scissors game) earlier today, and this shit is fucking insane. I'm having a blast watching it so far, and the narrator sounds like he's having a blast watching it too. It's not quite Kaguya dub narrator levels of over-the-top, but he definitely brings the hype and adds a lot to the show for me.

All joking aside that was my reaction after finishing that arc back when I originally watched the series. It was such a ride. Safe to say you should enjoy the rest of it too.

I might rewatch dubbed. Ive had it down as my favorite anime for like over a decade. Maybe its time to relive.

It's another gambling-focused anime from the same director as One Outs, which is one of the few anime that I've ever given a perfect 10/10 score. Of course I was going to like this show too. The question is whether I'll like this one as much as I liked One Outs, because that's going to be hard to match.

That probably explains why Sentai/HiDive released the dub the way they did. They uploaded episodes 1-9 in a batch last November, then episodes 10-15 in another batch this February, then finally episodes 16-26 to finish the season earlier this month. I guess those are supposed to be three separate major arcs?

Kaiji and Toua share a voice actor in the original/sub too. Though its not that easy to tell because the actor plays both characters way differently.

I can't remember the last time an anime genuinely made me cry. Like, more than just a few tears, full-on crying my eyes out. But this week's episode of MyGO actually pulled it off. I love this show so much. Forget anime of the season, this show may have just jumped to being my leader for anime of the year.
