Large maps with sometimes no fast travel station. No hit marker sound effect sometimes, the map itself is trash and not helpful in many missions. I'm level 32 and most guns in stores are STILL WHITE rarity. A shotgun I found 11 levels ago is still my best weapon what the fuck. Jack is the only thing keeping me going.

Also end game (the op or ol level thing) is too restrictive you have to play certain way

Still had fun tho but frustrating imo

It's almost like it's an RPG; just FPS style.

It's not up your alley and that's fine, but you gotta grind for good weapon drops, understand the "lore" as to why areas are open, understand the challenges of not having. Quick "die and re-enter the fight" mechanic (actually gives you a chance to look for items you missed), and why you find 40 different versions of the same pistol.

I loved it though. I LOVE feeling the achievements of kicking the shit out if that game.

Eh if you're not liking it now you're not gonna like the rest of the game lol

I do enjoy the overall experience. Lilith in 1 was omega fun from what I remember and I loved 3 (outside of the story) so I thought I'd come back to 2. But all the little things are killing me

I played as zero. Did sniper most of the time sometimes switched to melee build

Do only some bosses respawn? I went back to Bloodwings arena and it was just some other flying enemy this time

They don't respawn till you beat 2nd 0laythrough i think

I can count on one hand games I played beyond the first NG+, and I did it with this game, multiple classes also. I haven't played it in a while though, i'd imagine it doesn't run as good as I remember, but 3 never had the same feel for me.

I know when I played it a few years ago, I did so with the UCP (unofficial community patch) mod. Balanced a lot of things that made it a bit more playable, like auto-looting ammo and re-spawning bosses (also buffed Deathtrap so he wasn't useless late-game). Might be worth checking out, since it does address some of your concerns.

yeah ill never get why people like borderlands. i could tolerate the hurrrr number go up diablo shit and monkeycheese humor if the gunplay was satisfying at all but its not

I never understood the appeal of uhvm. Play through the entire story twice just to... Play through a third time.

B2's humor is pretty crappy and Jack is uber-annoying 99.99999% of the game. In fact, Jack really isn't very tolerable unless you play Tales from the Borderlands, haha. I personally preferred B1 in most respects, but when the cringe NPCs actually shut the hell up for a nanosecond and you can concentrate on the gunplay, it ain't too bad. Shame the enemies respawn so quickly, though -- another downside when you're just slogging through a dungeon/region/whatever.

On the plus side, finding those customizable heads was kinda fun.

With all six characters. Then start farming raid bosses SOLO. Get so good at it you start competing in time trials on the official forums.

Yeah I played Borderlands 1 and 2 but looking back I dont think I particularly enjoyed the games. Occasionally someone asks me to play one of the newer ones and I always pass.

Pecking away at the endboss with that Infinity pistol I've had basically the whole game, 237 times, trying to farm a "just right" version of the shotgun that falls out of it.
That's what BL2 is all about.

I honestly think the first game got the shooting and looting right. Guns felt powerful and satisfying, and I was often finding awesome new loot. From the second onward they seemed weaker and getting significant upgrades far rarer from just looting chests. You're all good if you got those Twitter keys though!

I did much prefer the story in 2, that being said. 1 had a very cool atmosphere and style but the plot was mostly plodding and unsurprising, 2 kept things interesting and funny. 3 was trash all around.

Compared to what? Post game maybe but just playing the game for the first time those chests were eclipsing anything I was finding naturally. It was a lame mechanic, regardless.

She's the only reason I even beat the game. Even as much as I thought krieg was fun I still quit before beating the game.

I liked pre sequel more honestly. I enjoyed almost every character and I loved the moon physics

the Zer0 pimpernel playstyle was my fave but I found it too tough once I hit the op levels and had to switch to the melee oriented playstyle w/ uhh that one pistol/revolver with the bayonet to keep health up (might be misremembering tho)

this was on ps3 tho which ran at like sub 30 fps sometimes (got pretty choppy sometimes). im sure pimpernel playstyle would be more manageable on pc and mouse/keyboard i sometimes think about replaying bl2 again.

The Pre-Sequel's better, Wilhelm and Athena were way more fun than most of the BL2 characters and the stat scaling in the game was a lot better balanced, and cryo>>>>>a bag of dog shit>>>>slag. Plus there was one oxygen mod that was hilariously overpowered since it created shockwaves on hit in exchange for draining oxygen, which obviously wasn't an issue unless you were in vacuum.

You got one of the most useful oxygen mods early game imo. I think it made enemies drop oxygen. All I remember is you never had to worry about oxygen as long as you had some enemies you could kill

I was disappointed how they said it was uncut everywhere and then removed dismemberment.

I honestly could only stand the gameplay as Kreig. Kreig is REALLY fun, though.

-Not gear reliant at all with melee builds post-Release the Beast. RtB falls off at OP levels, but it makes the start of UVHM easy instead of a huge difficulty spike.
-Can use Tediore weapons as tactical nukes thanks to +600% clip size or better combined with explosive and grenade damage bonuses. They are still 100% accurate in FFYL which makes revives super easy.
-Infinite grenades, like actually more than one drops per enemy on average with the right class mod
-Following the above, Blood Bath is an absolutely broken skill. Enjoy your +650% gun damage.
-So is Bloodsplosion on UVHM. Pull out Slagga, mark everything, toss Fastball or Tediore gun, hit 99999k damage cap on every enemy that's currently spawned at level 50.
-If you can stand farming Flame of the Firehawk over and over (ugh) you can run through entire zones without the nova ever stopping (and piss off your team from the explosion effects)
-Light the Fuse is actually viable for a stretch around level 50-62 and insanely fun, though it is largely unusable on TVHM or at endgame (sadface)
-Bloodlust + Hellborn bullet hose build go brrr, hold down trigger to pour 1000 SMG rounds into enemy in five seconds, then complain to team you are out of ammo

Its still the best BL game.
