Back when smoking was legal to do inside or I was riding around with smokers, I always controlled my breathing to inhale the least amount of second hand. So, now I just do that with adjustments, except with sickness. Just turn your head when passing people too closely and don't breathe in for a second. It's not fool proof obviously, but it's logical that it helps to be wary of spit particles and shit. Just the lil things that all add up. Don't make out with strangers under the bridge anymore. Whatever small stuff someone can change. The time we had to wear masks at work I never got sick. Due to the work I do I wear gloves most of the time too. As soon as the mask mandate was lifted I got a nasty cold. I've been really sick five other times since. I wear a mask still if I have to fly or take public transportation, or if I'm sick and going out shopping. I stopped wearing one at work a couple months ago; I also went bowling with coworkers a few weeks ago, which was the first time I've gone maskless in a crowded public place since the start of the pandemic. I still wear one when shopping, but I'm starting to debate that as well. Now that I'm about as protected as I'm going to get given the circumstances vaccine-wise, the question I currently ask myself is 'will wearing a mask negatively impact being social?' Plus I'm in in the South so no one else is masking and haven't for a long time. That's the main reason I'm masking up lol. Also, I'm not as concerned about COVID-19 as I was in the past but I know at least a dozen people who've recently been seriously fucked up by other respiratory illnesses that a mask perhaps could've prevented. My sister and her family just got done passing around an illness that was definitively not COVID-19 or the flu but still had everyone on their asses for weeks.
