East of West was really good, started it last night then basically read all day today...my eyes are tired lol
Apparently Hickman was just going to do a Western but Dragotta wanted to do sci fi too; I wonder how the original idea would have played out.
Good character writing all around though, and design wise Wolf and Crow are definitely on my short list, absolutely superb.

Glad you liked East of West, it was pretty unique, the art was great, i'm taking a big liking to Image comics. Wife is starting Sandman, I haven't read it yet but she got the app on her Kindle.

Kept hearing a lot about Punisher Max, so i'm reading it, starts with 5 books in Vietnam.

Also read the first book of I Hate Fairyland, which seems to be an ultra-violent fantasy land kind of book, the first issue was the only free one but i'm gonna buy the rest because the humor hits with me.

Awesome :D Easily one of the best novels I've read. Don't think I'll ever forget that ending.
I had the most ridiculous sense of satisfaction and elation upon finishing it. I legitimately wish I would've recorded my reaction because I know I had the cheesiest grin on my face.

Anyway, I tried to read Pride and Prejudice but I just can't do it. I think it's because I've seen three or four stage adaptations of it but whatever the reason, the interest isn't there. Not sure what to read next. I'm more into writing at the moment anyway.

Something is Killing the Children is another one I keep seeing pop up in discussions, going to add that one to my list. Someone mentioned Rat Queens also, read some of it, art is outstanding, has some Vox Machina vibes with the vulgarity and violence, I dig it.

Still gotta finish the last two volumes of Preacher, maybe I will tonight.

Lol me too! Read the last dialogue and line, I think I fist-pumped and felt a tear of joy slide down my face. Such a great novel.

Anyone have any experience with Hoopla or Libby? Both are free, online "libraries" that require an actual library card to use, but you can take out digital comics and graphic novels, the library is extensive.

I don't have a library card but I can probably get one.

I've used both. If you have a Kindle, Libby is better because you can borrow the book from Amazon instead of having to use the Libby app. Just be aware that it's like a physical library book in the sense that your library only has a certain number of digital copies available so you'll be subject to both wait lists and inability to renew the material if it's something popular and someone else wants to borrow it after you.

I'd love to know how the hell to read a Manga on Comixology, I get that they go backwards, but reading a normal one, I set it to panel to panel and hit space to keep advancing forward. When I try these, even swiping backwards just goes page to page, it's goofy. There's a few I wanna try but I don't wanna keep having to zoom and move the page around on the screen.

Black Science has been really awesome, kind of like a dark Quantum Leap beyond their control, they keep hopping system to system, no idea where they wind up, in the middle of a war, or a planet with a pack of vicious alien toads, it feels like classic sci-fi, and the art keeps blowing me away. Most volumes are on friggin Comixology which is nice, most they offer the first volume or two free and then want you to pay for the rest. I wish the app was so much better, Marvel Unlimited is great, so is the DC Universe app, if they could figure out a general one with both of those, Image, Dark House, I would pay $50 a month for as much as I read if everything they offered was complete. I left off on Volume 5 of Saga and i'm still kind of annoyed because I don't really wanna buy the next 7.

You know, theres something very satisfying about reading a book thats physically well constructed. Im reading Outlive by Peter Attia right now, and while the content of the book is itself very good, I really really love how the book itself was designed. The text is appealing, the pages are easy to turn, and the book holds itself open, so I can easily just plop it open on my desk, hands free, and go to town. Even as I reach for a sip of coffee or something, I can just keep reading because the pages lie there nicely and dont move on their own. Reading at its best like this is such a joy.
